Red Hot Chili Peppers is a highly influential rock band in the United States.

In 1983, the band was temporarily formed in Los Angeles, California by lead singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Michael "Flea" Balzary, guitarist Hillel Slovak, and drummer Jack Irons. The band was originally named "Tony Flow and the Majestic Masters of Mayfhem"

The first self titled album "The Red Hot Chili Peppers" was released in 1984, and "Mother's Milk" was released in 1989 with limited success. But in 1988, the band's soul figure guitarist Hillel Slovak died of a drug overdose, dealing a major blow to the band

The release of the 1991 album "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" made the band famous. The album ranked second on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, sold over 12 million copies worldwide, and won a Grammy Award, making the band one of the most important bands of the 1990s. Afterwards, the band underwent changes such as guitarist turnover, but still maintained a high level of creativity and performance, releasing successful albums such as "Californication" in 1999, "By the Way" in 2002, and "Stadium Arcadium" in 2006

The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 and will remain on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2022. In 2022, albums "Unlimited Love" and "Return of the Dream Canteen" were also released
