National Library of Norway

The Norwegian National Library is responsible for managing, digitizing, and disseminating all content published for the Norwegian public. In Motown, the collections of the National Library are preserved in both physical and digital forms in a large mountain hall. Document based cultural heritage from Norwegian archives, museums, and libraries is also digitized and preserved there.

At Solli plass in Oslo, the public can visit this building built in 1914, which features exhibitions, events, cafes, and reading rooms. The public can also experience the editorial communication of the National Library through podcasts, social media, video reports, and online streaming. We are still providing guidance services at Solli.

The National Library is a research institution that conducts its own research and promotes other studies on its collections. In the online library, you can find digital materials from the entire collection of the National Library.
