With a degree in Fine Arts, Carolyn Edlund started a business in 1981 and worked in a successful production ceramic jewelry studio for 20 years. Carolyn Edlund's collections are widely sold on the wholesale market. Over the years, she and her staff have created and shipped handmade products to more than 1,000 retail stores. They have also exhibited at hundreds of art fairs and festivals, selling directly to the public.

In 2001, Carolyn Edlund closed my studio and accepted an outside sales representative position for a major art publisher. Calling for "Representative of the Year" status in independent stores and chain retailers in the mid-Atlantic region. Carolyn Edlund represented art, paper, card, and gift lines and expanded the territory as a top performer.

During those years, Carolyn Edlund learned how to design a sellable line, price profitably, market, prospect, sell, and build a solid business book, as well as strong relationships and a vast network.

Carolyn Edlund has a lot of knowledge and experience to share with artists and makers who want to be entrepreneurs. In 2009, ArtsyShark.com was founded. Over the years, the site has published hundreds of articles on arts marketing and business strategies. Also works one-on-one with artists and creatives, providing private business consulting services. Able to work with a wide range of clients, including individual artists, galleries, non-profits, and other businesses.

Carolyn Edlund works with The Clark Hulings Foundation for Visual Artists to produce educational content, teach at their Arts Business Accelerator, and present at live Arts Business Conferences. These intensive learning experiences are perfect for working artists who are serious about developing a sustainable small business.
