Glass workshop is the first contemporary glazed art studio in Asia to be created by the "pate de verre" method. It was founded in 1987 by Yang Huishan, Zhang Yi and wangxiajun, and won the most influential Design Award in Asia.

"Glaze" is the glass of the glass ear cup of the tomb of Zhongshan Jing in the Western Han Dynasty; the glaze is the "glaze" of the poem of Bai Juyi, a poet in the Tang Dynasty. It is the Sutra "the glaze of the pharmacist is as bright as the original wish Sutra". When I come to the world, I will be like glaze, and the body is like glaze, and the inside and outside are clear.

Glaze, for the glass workshop, is not only a material, a media of creation, but a spirit, a life.

In 1987, the glass workshop was established. "Dewaxing casting", namely "P â te de verre", "cire Perdue", under the condition of no knowledge, explores from the dark, and tries to improve the creation space of dewaxing casting method to the scope and level that has not been existed in the world in the past.

Nowadays, in the Chinese world, hundreds of studios have widely used the word "glaze", but how many people know the meaning of "glaze"?

"Glaze" appeared in the Western Zhou Dynasty, referring to the glass melted by lead and barium at that time. "Workshop" was in song and Ming Dynasties, which means the place where work was conducted. The glass workshop always believes that, without paying attention to ideas and feelings, techniques and materials can only stay in the level of technique and material.

Therefore, without French or English, the name of "crystal glass" is officially designated as "glaze", which defines the materials we create, and states that the glass workshop has national culture and historical feelings.

There are several brands in the Liuli workshop. In addition to the mother brand, it also includes the fashion home design brand Lili living, the female accessories brand concept decoration (Lili PLEX), and the catering brand transparent thinking (TMSK). At present, glass workshop has offices in Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing and the United States of China, and has more than 50 art galleries worldwide, with more than 1000 employees around the world.
