Founded in March 2009, Wujie Music Network is one of the few music websites in China that mainly focuses on original music information, paying attention to the latest and best independent music both domestically and internationally.

The team members behind the scenes are all long-term habitual readers and users of excellent music magazines and websites at home and abroad. In the context of the decline of BBS trend in domestic forums and the rapid rise of social networks at that time, the music information media field lacked a truly basic music information website, so Wujie Music Network was created.

As a predecessor of Wu Jie, various music information websites such as Independent Music and Reverse Music, which were born during the same period, have gradually stopped updating in the past few years. However, Wu Jie has persisted until now and has published over 200 interviews, nearly 300 music reviews and performance reviews, and recommended more than 500 domestic and foreign bands.

The Wujie team currently has two editors stationed in Shanghai, who are distributed in various cities in China and important music cities such as London, Scotland, New York, Portland, etc. They have established cooperative relationships with several independent labels and music websites abroad, and are the exclusive partner of French music streaming service Deezer in China.

Due to the rich reporting experience and unique taste and insights of the author team of Wu Jie, Wu Jie is often invited by event organizers such as Midi Music Festival, Strawberry Music Festival, Shanghai Jazz Festival, Beijing Sonic, Egg Ball Music Festival, Ableton Workshop, Music Matters Asia, etc. to conduct on-site interviews and report on the overall event and participating artists.

In the past 6 years, the website has undergone several redesigns and now adopts the latest code technology and cutting-edge design concepts, and has a very user-friendly mobile browsing interface.

In addition to online websites, Wujie has also expanded its offline activities since 2011, actively organizing the "Wujie Live" to explore and promote new bands, independently producing and translating music documentary subtitles, and organizing free screenings of "Wujie Screening" in various cities in China. There is also the "Wujie Electric Field" series that invited the most unique and exciting musicians in the electronic music industry since 2014.

'Wujie Weekend' was a brand new attempt by Wujie Music Network at the end of 2014. Choose a third-party city outside of Shanghai and Beijing every year to create a fun, creative, and underground DIY independent music weekend.
