Beijing University of Technology

Beijing University of Technology (Beijing University of Technology) was founded in 1960. It is a multi-disciplinary municipal key university with engineering as its main discipline and a combination of engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law, art and education. In 1981, it became the first batch of master's degree awarding institutions approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and in 1985, it became a doctoral degree awarding institution. In 1996, it passed the preliminary review of the national "211 Project" and officially entered the ranks of the 100 key universities in the 21st century. In September 2017, the school officially entered the ranks of national first-class discipline construction universities, with 8 disciplines ranked in the top 500 of the 2020 QS World University Rankings, ranking 32nd in mainland China in the 2020 QS World University Rankings, and 6 disciplines including engineering, materials science, chemistry, environmental science and ecology, computer science, biology and biochemistry entered the top 1% of ESI.

The school headquarters is located at No. 100 Pingleyuan, Chaoyang District, Beijing, east of East Fourth Ring Road South, west of Xida Wang Road, south of Shuanglong Road, and north of Pingleyuan Community; there are 6 campuses in Zhonglan, Guanzhuang, Huayuan Village, Liulijing, Huixin East Street and Tongzhou; covering an area of ​​960,151 square meters. The school has 17 teaching and research institutions; 72 undergraduate majors; 20 first-level disciplines authorized to confer doctoral degrees; 33 first-level disciplines authorized to confer master's degrees, and 1 interdisciplinary discipline independently set up; 4 doctoral professional degree authorization categories, 18 master's professional degree authorization categories; 18 postdoctoral mobile stations, with 300 people on station. There are 3 national key disciplines, 21 Beijing key disciplines, and 18 Beijing key construction disciplines. The school currently has 2 national engineering laboratories, 3 "111 Plan" talent introduction bases, 1 national industry-university-research center, 1 international cooperation research center, 1 provincial and ministerial co-construction national key laboratory cultivation base, 3 Ministry of Education engineering research centers, 5 Ministry of Education key laboratories, 45 Beijing-level scientific research bases, 4 industry key laboratories, 2 provincial and ministerial co-construction collaborative innovation centers, 3 Beijing-level collaborative innovation centers, and 1 Beijing University High-tech Innovation Center. Publish 2 professional journals regularly.

There are 25,829 students in school, including 9,366 full-time graduate students (1,700 doctoral students and 7,666 master students) and 814 part-time master students among academic education students; 13,572 ordinary undergraduates and 2,077 adult education undergraduate and junior college students (2,076 undergraduates and 1 junior college student). There are 420 international students (412 academic students and 8 non-academic students).
