Chinese People's Public Security University

People's Public Security University of China is a general higher education institution directly under the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Public Security Senior Police Officers College, and a national "world-class discipline construction university". It was founded in July 1948 by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in Jianping County (now Pingshan County) in the Hebei Liberated Area. It has gone through the development stages of North China Public Security Cadre School (1949-1950), Central Public Security Cadre School (1950-1953), Central People's Public Security College (1953-1959), Central Political and Legal Cadre School (1959-1982) and the restoration of the Central People's Public Security College (1982-1984). In 1984, the Central People's Public Security College was rebuilt into a full-time general higher education institution and the People's Public Security University of China was established. In February 1998, it merged with the Chinese People's Police University to form the new Chinese People's Public Security University (Chinese People's Police University began to offer general undergraduate education in 1978. Its predecessor was the Ministry of Public Security's Political and Legal College, which was renamed the International Political College in 1979 and the Chinese People's Police University in 1984). In 2000, the Beijing Traffic People's Police School of the Ministry of Transport was merged into the school.

Since its establishment, the school has always been highly valued by the leaders of the Party and the country. Comrade Mao Zedong met with the students of the school many times, Comrade Deng Xiaoping wrote the name of the school in his own handwriting, and Comrade Jiang Zemin wrote an inscription for the school. In October 2004, Hu Jintao and other party and state leaders visited the school to observe the report and drill of the National Public Security Police Training and delivered an important speech. In October 1984, Comrade Xi Zhongxun, then member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Secretariat, attended the naming ceremony of the Chinese People's Public Security University and the Chinese People's Police University and the opening ceremony of the 1984 students on behalf of the Party Central Committee and the State Council and delivered an important speech. Comrades Peng Zhen and Luo Ruiqing once served as the principals of the school. In recent years, leaders such as Meng Jianzhu and Guo Shengkun have visited the school for many inspections and guidance, listened to the school's work reports, and made important instructions and instructions on major issues of the school's construction and development. In October 2018, Comrade Zhao Kezhi, State Councilor, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Public Security, and Minister, visited the school in person to attend the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the school and delivered an important speech, clarifying the school's positioning, school goals and key tasks in the new era, and pointing out the direction for the reform and development of the Public Security University in the new era.

The school is a comprehensive university in the public security industry. It is the first higher education institution in the national public security system to carry out general higher education, the first to carry out master's degree training, and the only one to carry out doctoral education. It is also the most complete discipline, the largest scale of education, the most complete education level, and the only public security college currently selected as the country's "world-class discipline construction university". Since its establishment, the school has trained and sent more than 320,000 leaders, business backbones and specialized talents at all levels for the national political and legal public security organs and other units, and is known as the "cradle of police officers of the Republic".

The school currently has two campuses in Muxidi and Tuanhe, covering an area of ​​more than 1,200 acres. The teaching and administrative rooms, venues and student (trainee) dormitories cover an area of ​​more than 600,000 square meters. The library has the most complete collection of public security books in the country, with more than 1.5 million books in the collection. The campus has complete teaching, scientific research, training and other facilities. It has built a number of modern large-scale education and training venues such as the Police Tactical Training Hall, Police Tactical Training Block, Police Physical Comprehensive Training Hall, and Senior Police Officer Training Building. It is equipped with live-fire shooting, scenario simulation, swimming rescue, special service driving, trace inspection, trace evidence analysis, police tactical command, criminal investigation, psychological testing, security prevention technology, traffic management and control, and many other first-class domestic police practical training facilities.

In accordance with the school's positioning by the Party Committee of the Ministry of Public Security, the school, as the "vanguard" of public security colleges across the country, must strengthen the "four consciousnesses", firm up the "four self-confidences", and achieve the "two safeguards", and take the lead in building a socialist ideology with strong cohesion and leadership.
