Baotou Normal College is located in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, which is known as the "Grassland Steel City" and is known as the "World Rare Earth Capital". The school was formerly the Baotou Normal College founded in 1958. In 1996, it was renamed Baotou Normal College. In 2000, Baotou Normal College merged with the former Baotou Normal School and Baotou Education College and was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Baotou Normal College.
