After adding feature films to the main competition unit in 2012, after 6 years of systematic development, the selection covers over 53 countries/regions. The 15th FIRST Youth Film Exhibition in 2021 received a total of 941 film registration records. The judging panel of top Asian filmmakers tests the rigor and fairness of the FIRST evaluation system. Since 2012, the festival has been chaired by Xu Feng, Ann Hui, Xie Fei, Jiang Wen, Wong Kar wai, Lou Ye, Chen Guofu, Diao Yinan, Chen Kexin, and Zhang Aijia.
