Amazon Chime is a one-stop enterprise level communication service launched by Amazon Web Services (AWS), with core functions covering online meetings, instant messaging, business calls, and content sharing. It supports internal and external collaboration within organizations, and all functions are integrated into a single application, aiming to simplify enterprise communication processes and improve collaboration efficiency. However, it should be noted that AWS has announced that it will terminate support for Amazon Chime services on February 20, 2026. Users will no longer be able to access its console and application resources thereafter, but the Amazon Chime SDK (a toolkit for developers to integrate communication features) will not be affected.

Supports high-definition audio and video conferencing, with a maximum capacity of 25 people on the desktop and up to 250 people on the Pro version. It provides screen sharing, remote control, and conference recording functions, and can also conveniently participate through "Call Me" or dial in numbers from over 80 countries/regions worldwide;
Compatible with conference room equipment, compatible with SIP and H.263 video systems, supports Dolby voice rooms (can initiate meetings through Alexa voice), and can automatically optimize meeting deployment based on participant location to ensure a global collaboration experience.
Provide one-on-one/group chat, permanent chat rooms, support 50MB file transfer, message @ mention, and cross device message synchronization. Chat records are not stored on local devices to ensure security;
Support instant voice/video calls, retain call history, and facilitate calling back or adding contacts.
Administrators can quickly manage users, configure permissions, and set up single sign on (SSO) through the console, without the need for complex infrastructure deployment;
Support integration with Slack (via Amazon Chime Meetings App), and can also connect to existing enterprise phone systems through Amazon Chime Voice Connector to achieve low-cost SIP relaying.
Multi terminal compatibility and convenience applications support Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and web platforms. Attendees do not need to download the client (one click join on the web platform), and meetings can seamlessly switch across devices. Users will actively call all devices to avoid being late.
Provide a permanently free Basic version that includes features such as one-on-one meetings and basic chat;
The Pro version is paid based on usage (without upfront investment or long-term contracts), and the first registration allows for a free 30 day trial. Enterprises can switch between Basic/Pro as needed to avoid overspending.
All communication content is encrypted for security and reliability, and supports managing user identities through Microsoft Active Directory, in compliance with enterprise security policies; After the conference is disconnected, it can automatically reconnect with high-definition audio and video to ensure communication quality.
Remote team collaboration for enterprises (cross-border/cross departmental meetings, project group chats);
Customer communication and external meetings (no need for the other party to register an account, convenient participation);
Low cost communication solution for small businesses (no need to deploy traditional telephone systems, relying on cloud services for quick deployment).
Please note that as the service will be terminated in 2026, new users need to evaluate the transition plan based on their own needs. If they need to use similar features for a long time, they can pay attention to the Amazon Chime SDK or AWS recommended alternative services.
