The core mission of Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) is to inspire K-12 students to learn computer science, advocate for educational equity, and recognize relevant contributors. This year's theme focuses on the role of computer science in driving innovation in artificial intelligence, emphasizing the importance of computer science foundations in the era of artificial intelligence.

CSEdWeek was initiated by ACM in 2009, initially focusing on policy issues and gradually expanding its audience to include various groups such as K-12 students, teachers, and parents. In its development process, it has received support and cooperation from numerous organizations and companies. For example, in 2013, Code.org organized activities with the theme of "Hour of Code", which greatly increased the number of participating students and activities. In 2015, the "Hour of Code" service reached 100 million hours, becoming the largest educational event in history. In 2020, CSTA began coordinating CSEdWeek, and Code.org continued to organize the "Hour of Code" event. In addition, the mission of CSTA was introduced, which is to empower, attract, and support K-12 computer science teachers worldwide and promote computer science education.
