Soundtrap was launched in 2013 and is the world's first web-based cross platform collaborative music recording studio. Founded by Per Emanuelsson, Bj ö rn Melinder, Fredrik Pose, Gabriel Sj ö berg, and Magnus Svedjbratt in Stockholm, Sweden.

In 2014, Soundtrap made its debut at the Google I/O conference in San Francisco with its groundbreaking technology and collaborative features. The following year, Soundtrap won the AASL Award for "Best Teaching and Learning Website" for its ease of use in the classroom. Subsequently, Soundtrap rapidly developed in both consumer and educational fields. Nowadays, Soundtrap has become the preferred recording tool for music producers and educators worldwide.
