Himawari-8 Real time Network - NICT

Himawari-8 Real Time Web is developed by the NICT Science Cloud project of the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) in Japan. The development was completed in collaboration between JMA (Japan Meteorological Agency) and CERES (Chiba University Environmental Remote Sensing Center). This network application and its contained data shall not be used for commercial purposes. Both graphical and numerical data (24 hours after observation) can be accessed through WSDBank (World Science Database) on NICT Science Cloud.

The images captured by the visual camera in the Asia Oceania region (11000 x 11000) and Japan region (3000 x 2400) can be displayed on a computer or smartphone. Provide multi-scale views (level 12 for Asia Oceania region and level 11 for Japan region). The images increase at constant intervals (every 10 minutes in the Asia Oceania region and every 2.5 minutes in the Japan region). The animation library provides regular movies (Asia Oceania region, Japan region, and target region) and event movies.
