Lightyear.fm is a unique website that takes you on a journey through space, time, and music. This website utilizes the principle of radio waves propagating at the speed of light to demonstrate how broadcasts on Earth spread into outer space over time. Users can explore the propagation distance of radio waves originating from Earth in the universe and listen to popular music of the corresponding era by scrolling through the page.

As the distance from Earth increases, the music received becomes more ancient, as if immersing oneself in the depths of the universe, listening to melodies from the past. The website recommends using Chrome browser and wearing headphones for the best experience. Lightyear.fm was co produced by Mike Lacher, Mika Chernov, Brian Moore, and Chris Baker, inspired by the opening scene of the movie "Beyond Time and Space". It should be noted that although radio waves can propagate over 100 light years, due to energy attenuation during propagation, broadcasts on Earth become weak and difficult to receive from several light years away. Therefore, stars in the universe do not actually hear music broadcasts from Earth.
