Colossal – The best of art, craft and visual culture since 2010.

Colossal is an online art magazine dedicated to celebrating contemporary art and visual culture across a variety of creative fields. Based in Chicago, we focus on international emerging and established artists. We publish multiple artist profiles every day, current exhibition coverage, in-depth conversations with outspoken artists, and tons of unexpected content, all dedicated to making art accessible to everyone.

Colossal curates and presents multiple exhibitions per year, hosts online and offline artist workshops, organizes lectures, and publishes monthly opportunities for artists. We also run a fun online design shop.

In a world of information overload, rampant loneliness, climate catastrophe, runaway capitalism, and social injustice, we curate Colossal to focus on the most positive, diverse, and impactful stories that bring about change and meaningful connection. We intend to amplify the voices of artists working for a more equitable and sustainable future through innovation, unexpected materials, humor, spectacle, and an abundance of skill and hope. We are primarily supported by our very generous members.

Colossal was founded in 2010 by writer and curator Christopher Jobson. Over the past decade, we have been honored by the National Endowment for the Arts, TED, and PBS Art21. Colossal has won the UTNE Media Award for Arts Coverage and has been nominated for a Webby Award.
