Course Hero | Take control of your study time

Course Hero is an online learning platform that provides course-specific learning resources. Founded in 2006 by college student Andrew Grauer, Course Hero's mission is to help students confidently prepare for graduation.

Course Hero supports students on their unique learning journey to find help and resources to better understand their courses, prepare for exams, learn, and remember. Students can subscribe or contribute their own resources to access millions of learning materials, including practice questions, study guides, textbook solutions, and step-by-step instructions for every subject. More than 200,000 teachers in the United States, Canada, and Australia have joined the Course Hero community of educators to share their resources, collaborate with other teachers, and hone new teaching strategies.

Course Hero is part of Learneo, Inc., a productivity and learning business platform. In addition to Course Hero, Learneo also includes the original iconic study guide company CliffsNotes, literary resource creator LitCharts, AI writing companion QuillBot, multilingual academic proofreading service Scribbr, and AI-based math resource Symbolab.

Course Hero's growing community of higher education instructors share a common goal of helping fellow instructors develop teaching skills to help students learn and succeed academically. With Course Hero, instructors can share resources, collaborate with other instructors, and hone new teaching strategies. There are more than 200,000 instructors on the platform. Instructors can contribute resources such as assignments, quizzes, case studies, handouts, and more. Teachers can also join Course Hero to learn new skills and teaching strategies from instructors and subject matter experts through a variety of event formats, including workshops, discussions, and community gatherings.

Support for students and educators goes beyond providing online learning and course materials, mentoring, and access to a community of educators. We recognize the hard work students put in to graduate confidently and prepared. The Hero Student Scholarship honors students who have overcome obstacles in their college journey. We award them $5,000 each year until they graduate. We also have scholarships specifically for first-generation college students, community leaders, and veterans, among others.

The College Grit Program is designed to honor and support students and the everyday challenges they overcome on their path to graduation. The program invites students to share their stories of grit, big or small, and be rewarded for their courage, strength, and ingenuity. For many students, graduation is more complicated than ever, and COVID-19 has only exacerbated the challenges facing the new majority of students who work while on campus, have children or someone to care for, or don’t know where their next meal is coming from. It’s critical that students feel supported and encouraged on their journey to graduation.

The COVID-19 pandemic has put more stress on students and educators than ever before. To support students and educators during such uncertain times, Course Hero committed $500,000 to the Student Emergency Assistance Program. Students applied to receive financial assistance to meet their immediate needs. We also provided students and educators with access to learning and teaching resources in our document library and facilitated peer reviews among educators seeking feedback on remote teaching practices.
