Ukat -British Archive Dictionary

UKAT is a theme library and controlling vocabulary. The British archives can be used when indexing their collection and directory.Our main goal is:

Improve the way to obtain files by themes

Make sure that archive users see related and consistent theme search

By providing the theme terms that reflect history and experience, the archives user group that promotes insufficient representatives to participate in the archives work.

UKAT was founded from June 2003 to August 2004. It provides a theme term by the individual archives, projects and users.Provide additional funds, management and support.

UKAT's initial creation was jointly supervised by a file consultant group and a group including family history association and archives user organization.Since 2004, AIM25 (London and M25 archives) has continuously increased new terms and vocabulary, which is selected and verified by archives professionals.At present, the AIM25 team and Imagiz have managed and maintained the terms of terms on the basis of voluntary.
