Shuge was established on May 22, 2013. Its origin can be traced back to a PDF website (now renamed Shuge) founded on Douban in 2012: a small website that collects and organizes Chinese ancient books or paintings scattered around the world. However, Douban's small station broadcasting has text restrictions and strict review systems. As the number of books and documents increases, the search and classification cannot be solved, and so on. The creation of book grids is precisely to address these issues.
