Beijing Union University Business School

Beijing Union University Business School was founded in 1978. It was formerly the First Branch of Beijing Institute of Technology (now Beijing Institute of Technology). In 1985, it was renamed Beijing Union University Textile Engineering College, and in 1997, it was renamed Beijing Union University Business School. Since its establishment, the college has adhered to the school motto of "learning for practical use" and the school mission of "practicing social responsibility, promoting application innovation, cultivating business backbones, and serving regional development". It is committed to building an international business school that is well received by the industry. After more than 40 years of development, the college has become a general undergraduate college that cultivates talents in economics and management.

The college is located in Beijing's Central Business District (CBD) and is a member of the Beijing CBD Business School Alliance. The surrounding business atmosphere is strong, international cultures converge, business activities are active, and internships are convenient.

The college currently has six undergraduate majors, including international economics and trade, finance, accounting (international accounting), marketing, international business, information management and information systems. In 2021, a new major in big data management and application will be added. Among them, the finance major is a national characteristic professional construction point. The accounting (international accounting) major is a first-class professional construction point in Beijing, with an international accounting direction class (ACCA). International economics and trade majors and international business majors offer all-English classes. There are more than 1,000 full-time students on campus. The college's graduates are widely welcomed by employers for their characteristics of "professional proficiency, strong foreign language skills, practical style, quick adaptation, and good communication". The employment rate of graduates in the past five years has exceeded 95%.

The college has a high-quality faculty with a reasonable structure and strong innovation and practical ability. The proportion of doctoral students among professional teachers reached 83.3%, and teachers with associate professors and above reached 69.7%. Teachers have studied abroad and further studies experience reached 53%, and teachers have practical experience in related industries and enterprises reached 84.8%.

The college has built a Beijing-level experimental teaching demonstration center (economic and trade experimental teaching center) and established off-campus talent training bases with more than 40 enterprises, providing full guarantee for students' internships and business practices. The college has achieved full coverage of online courses, which is convenient for students to carry out independent learning anytime and anywhere.

The college focuses on cultivating applied business talents with an international perspective. In 2000, the college started the road of international cooperation in running schools, and successively cooperated with foreign institutions such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Taiwan, providing students with nearly 30 international exchange and learning programs. The proportion of students studying abroad in each class exceeds 30%. In terms of teaching, scientific research, etc., the college actively explores international exchanges and cooperation at different levels and in various forms.

In 2013, the college joined the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and continued to improve the quality of talent training with international certification standards, and promoted the construction of an international boutique business school. In recent years, the college's connotation construction has made great progress. In 2018, the college and the School of Management of Shanghai University of Technology jointly initiated the establishment of the "Internationalization Construction Research Alliance of Business Schools of High-level Applied Universities", which built a platform for communication and mutual learning for local business schools, and jointly explored the international business school construction model based on AACSB certification's "international paradigm, Chinese characteristics, and local practice".
