Hubei University of Economics

Hubei University of Economics is a full-time undergraduate college run by the People's Government of Hubei Province, a master's degree-granting institution approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, and a university supported by the National "14th Five-Year Plan" Education Power Promotion Project.

The school's history can be traced back to the "Hubei Commercial Middle School" founded by Zhang Zhidong in 1907. It was approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2002 and was established by merging the former Hubei Commercial College, Wuhan Finance College, and Hubei Provincial Planning and Management Cadre College.

The school currently has 62 undergraduate majors, 16,976 undergraduate students and 775 graduate students; 1,070 full-time teachers, including 139 professors, 412 associate professors, and 556 teachers with doctoral degrees, accounting for 51.96%; the campus covers an area of ​​2,192 acres, and the school building area is 640,000 square meters. The school is located in the hinterland of the Optics Valley Science and Technology Innovation Corridor in Wuhan City, and is located on the banks of the beautiful Tangxun Lake. The beautiful campus ecological axis is sparse and unique, surrounded by green water, lush trees, flowers all year round, and humanistic wisdom and green complement each other. It has been rated as a provincial ecological garden-style school.

It has 4 provincial key disciplines, including applied economics, business administration, statistics, and law, and has established 4 provincial advantageous and characteristic disciplines (groups) in modern service industry, regional economic development and carbon neutrality, law, and artificial intelligence and digital economy.

The school focuses on building first-class undergraduate education, focusing on "three-dimensional education" and "five ideological and political education", actively building good majors, good courses, good textbooks, good laboratories, and good classrooms, and promoting the reform of talent training models. 13 majors such as economics, finance, finance, accounting, financial management, marketing, tourism management, logistics management, law, software engineering, business English, journalism, and leisure sports have been approved as national first-class undergraduate major construction points, and 29 courses such as finance and monetary finance have been rated as national and provincial "gold courses". The National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Economic Management (Hubei University of Economics) has been established. In the past two provincial teaching achievement awards, 4 first prizes have been won.

The school focuses on the development of academic productivity, insists on the coordinated advancement of scientific research and social services, and focuses on the strategic layout of the country's new development stage. In the fields of digital economy, low-carbon economy, development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, construction of business environment, and Chu cuisine industry, it has built platforms, gathered talents, and cultivated results. 1 provincial collaborative innovation center, 7 provincial key research bases for humanities and social sciences, 1 provincial engineering technology research center, 2 provincial scientific research platforms, and 2 reform think tanks of the provincial party committee and government have been established. There are 42 full-time Taiwanese teachers, which have received high attention from national and provincial Taiwan work agencies and relevant Taiwan parties. It cooperates with Montgomery Auburn University in the United States to organize undergraduate education programs in information management and information systems, and cooperates with Giovanni Battista Tiepolo Academy of Fine Arts in Italy to organize undergraduate education programs in environmental design.
