Chongqing University of Technology

The war of resistance against Japanese aggression tempered the blood of military industry. Chongqing University of Technology is a key university in Chongqing and the only general undergraduate college with military industry background in Southwest China.

The school traces back to the 11th Technical School of the National Government's Ordnance Department founded in 1940 (externally known as "Shiji Public School"). After 1950, the school was renamed the 21st Arsenal Industrial Vocational School, the Southwest Industrial Department Industrial School of the Southwest Military and Political Committee, Chongqing Mechanical Industry School, the Southwest First Industrial School of the Second Mechanical Industry Department, Chongqing Industrial School, Chongqing Mechanical Manufacturing Industrial School, and Chongqing First Mechanical Manufacturing Industrial School. In 1957, the metal cutting major of Kunming Instrument Manufacturing Industrial School was incorporated. In 1960, it was upgraded to Chongqing Industrial College. In 1965, it was upgraded to Chongqing Institute of Technology. In 1985, it was rebuilt into Chongqing Institute of Industrial Management with the approval of the State Education Commission. In 1999, it was transferred from China Ordnance Industry Corporation to Chongqing Municipal Government, and implemented a management system of co-construction by the central and local governments and mainly managed by the local government. In the same year, it was renamed Chongqing Institute of Technology. In 2001, Chongqing Economic Management Cadre College was integrated as a whole. In 2009, it was renamed Chongqing University of Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

The school is located in Chongqing, a municipality directly under the Central Government of China. It has three campuses, namely Huaxi, Liangjiang and Yangjiaping. Huaxi Campus is located in Banan District, on the bank of the Yangtze River, adjacent to the Nanshan Mountains. Huaxi River passes through the school, and Hudie Mountain winds through it. It has a beautiful environment and charming scenery. Liangjiang Campus is located in Yubei District, east of Yulin River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, and backed by Shibi Mountain of Tieshan Mountains. It is located in the advanced manufacturing industry belt of Chongqing Liangjiang New District, the third national development and opening-up new district; Yangjiaping Campus is located in Jiulongpo District, in the hinterland of the business district. The green tile building is simple and elegant, quiet in the bustling city, and the science and technology building stands tall and leads innovation. The school covers a total area of ​​2,152 acres, and the school building area is 1.03 million square meters. The Huaxi main campus complex designed by the team of Academician He Jingtang of South China University of Technology is graceful and elegant, with a landscape blending mountains and waters. It won the first prize for excellent planning and design of the Ministry of Education and was named "Top Ten Garden-style Units in Chongqing".

The school has always taken moral education as its fundamental task. Facing and serving the national and local economic and social development, it has established a multidisciplinary professional system with coordinated development of science, engineering, literature, management, economics, law, medicine, and art. It is a high-level new engineering construction university in Chongqing. It has 14 municipal key disciplines in the "14th Five-Year Plan", 2 municipal "artificial intelligence + discipline groups", 15 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points (covering 46 second-level discipline master's degree authorization points), and 12 master's professional degree authorization categories. At present, there are 67 undergraduate majors, including 1 major that has passed the engineering education professional certification; 7 national first-class undergraduate major construction points, 4 characteristic majors, 2 comprehensive reform pilot majors, 13 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction points; 5 Chongqing characteristic disciplines and professional groups; 26 Chongqing first-class professional construction projects, 4 characteristic majors in big data intelligence, 3 application transformation pilot majors, 15 characteristic majors in the "Three Special Action Plan", and 2 comprehensive reform pilot majors. It has one of the first national virtual teaching and research room pilots, one of the first modern industrial colleges of the Ministry of Education; one national experimental teaching demonstration center, one demonstrative virtual simulation experimental teaching project, and one off-campus practical education base for college students; two municipal virtual teaching and research room pilots, two demonstrative modern industrial college projects, and one demonstrative future technology college project. There are about 30,000 full-time undergraduates, graduate students, and international students, and a total of more than 100,000 talents have been delivered to the society. The school has won honors such as "National Advanced Grassroots Party Organization", "Top 50 Universities with Typical Experience in Graduate Employment in the Country", "Chongqing Employment Work Advanced Collective", and "Chongqing Ordinary College Graduate Employment Demonstration Center".

There are four provincial and ministerial talent platforms, including Chongqing Talent Management Reform Pilot Zone, Chongqing Postdoctoral Research Station, Chongqing Academician Expert Station, and Chongqing Haizhi Station. The school has won many honors such as "Chongqing Overseas Students Advanced Working Group" and "City Talent Work Advanced Group".

The school has always focused on improving the ability of scientific and technological innovation to lead development. There are 45 provincial and ministerial scientific research innovation and service platforms, including the National University Science and Technology Park, the first batch of scientific and technological achievements transformation and technology transfer bases of higher education institutions of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Provinces jointly built collaborative innovation center for high-end equipment technology, the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Advanced Manufacturing Technology for Automotive Parts, the Ministry of Education International Cooperation Joint Laboratory for Intelligent Manufacturing and Control of Key Parts of Energy-saving and New Energy Vehicles, and the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center for Mechanical Testing Technology and Equipment. As a national intellectual property pilot university, it has two national science and technology innovation service platforms, including a national science and technology enterprise incubator and a national registered maker space. It has led the construction of the Chongqing Automotive Intelligent Manufacturing and Testing Industry Technology Research Institute, one of the first five new high-end R&D institutions in the city, and planned three projects, including the Chongqing CNC Machine Tool Research Institute of China General Technology Group and the New Energy Vehicle Intelligent Testing and Equipment Research Institute, to settle in the Western China (Chongqing) Science City. It has built 24 joint laboratories and research centers with scientific research institutes and large enterprises such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Automotive Engineering Research Institute, and Chongqing Changan Automobile (Group) Co., Ltd. In recent years, the school has undertaken more than 2,400 major key scientific research projects at the provincial and ministerial levels and above, including national key R&D plan projects, national outstanding youth science fund projects, major scientific research instrument development projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, and key projects of the National Social Science Foundation. More than 14,000 papers have been published in domestic and foreign academic journals and academic conferences, and the number of Nature series, Science series, and ESI highly cited papers has increased year by year; more than 400 textbooks and books have been published; 5 international invention patents have been authorized, more than 1,000 public patents have been obtained; 4 National Science and Technology Progress Awards, 1 National Technological Invention Award, 1 China Patent Gold Award, 1 Excellence Award, and 155 provincial (ministerial) awards have been obtained. The school has 6 Chinese and English journals, which have now developed into RCCSE China Core Academic Journals, China Science and Technology Core Journals, "Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences Journals AMI Comprehensive Evaluation" A-Journal Core Journals, Chinese Core Journals, China Science Citation Database (CSCD) Source Journals, EI-Included Journals, ESCI-Included Journals, and SCIE-Included Journals.

The school has always adhered to open and collaborative education. The university has carried out multi-form, in-depth and wide-ranging cooperation and exchanges with 45 universities and research institutions in more than 20 countries or regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, South Korea, and Japan, in terms of cooperative education, scientific research, platform co-construction, teacher training, student visits and exchanges. The university is a member university of international alliance organizations such as the "Belt and Road" China-Poland University Alliance and the China-Finland Alliance of Presidents of Applied Sciences. The university accepts short-term students and undergraduate and master's degree students from more than 20 countries in the world. The university actively integrates into the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle, jointly initiates the establishment of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance, and pragmatically promotes cooperation in the field of higher education in Sichuan and Chongqing. It has established school-local cooperation relations with many cities (districts) and counties under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hebei, and Chongqing. It has established strategic partnerships with many well-known domestic universities and research institutes, such as Beijing Institute of Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and China Ordnance Science Research Institute. It has carried out in-depth industry-university-research cooperation with many well-known domestic companies, such as China North Industries Group Corporation, China North Industries Group Corporation, China General, Changan, Huawei, and ZTE. More than 80 years of ups and downs, more than 80 years of glory. After the continuous efforts of successive generations of "Chongqing University of Science and Technology", the comprehensive school-running strength and social influence of the school have been significantly enhanced. It is known as "one of the fastest-growing, most changed and most eye-catching universities in Chongqing in recent years". Li Lanqing, former member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, commented in the book "Education Interviews" that the school "grasped its strengths, developed its characteristics and achieved its level".

Continuing the school-running sentiment of the first president, Mr. Li Chenggan, "Only education is worthy of our best efforts", and the earnest expectation of "industry to build the country, technology to benefit industry" in the school song written by the famous writer Mr. Guo Moruo, the school has accumulated and formed the university spirit of "self-improvement, truth-seeking and innovation".
