Chongqing Police College

Chongqing Police College (hereinafter referred to as "the School") is a full-time undergraduate college organized by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, managed by the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau and guided by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. The predecessor of Chongqing Police College was the Public Security School of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government Public Security Bureau established in 1950. In 2001, the Public Security School and the Chongqing Municipal People's Police School merged to form Chongqing Police Vocational College. In 2005, Chongqing Police Vocational College and Southwest University of Political Science and Law jointly established an undergraduate law major (public security law direction). In 2012, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Chongqing Police College was established on the basis of Chongqing Police Vocational College. In 2015, the school was approved as a bachelor's degree awarding institution.

School conditions The school is located in Shapingba District, Chongqing, covering an area of ​​420,100 square meters (630.20 acres) and a building area of ​​115,300 square meters. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 32.4931 million yuan. The library has a paper collection of 654,300 books, 345,700 electronic books, 486,800 electronic journals, 710 Chinese and foreign journals, and 25 resource databases. There are 26 experimental training sites and 14 internship bases.

Disciplines and majors The school currently has 8 undergraduate majors in investigation, public security, police command and tactics, criminal science and technology, traffic management engineering, network security and law enforcement, economic crime investigation and drug control, covering two disciplines of law and engineering, and two first-level disciplines of public security and public security technology. The major of police command and tactics is a national key professional cultivation point for public security higher education and a "first-class major" point in Chongqing. The three majors of public security, criminal science and technology, and traffic management engineering are characteristic majors in Chongqing. The discipline of public security technology is a key discipline cultivation point in Chongqing.

The school currently has 289 faculty members, including 51 with doctoral degrees, 20 senior professional and technical positions, 51 deputy senior professional and technical positions, and 157 full-time teachers. Teaching and Research The school currently has 1 national teaching team, 2 provincial and ministerial teaching teams, 2 national quality courses, 13 provincial and ministerial quality courses, and has won 10 provincial and ministerial teaching achievement awards. In the National Public Security College Teaching Skills Competition, 5 teachers won the second prize and 7 teachers won the third prize. In the past three years, the school teachers have presided over 213 scientific research and teaching research projects of various types, including 74 provincial and ministerial projects (including 10 major key projects); teachers have published a total of 386 papers, including 41 core journal papers and major foreign language retrievals; obtained 20 patents, 7 software copyright registrations; published 11 academic works; won 43 scientific research achievement awards at all levels, including 7 provincial and ministerial awards. The school currently has 1 Chongqing Science and Technology Innovation Team and 2 Chongqing Academic and Technical Leaders. Serving the society The school actively serves the economic and social development and public security work of Chongqing. It actively conducts research on key issues in the field of social security, and puts forward countermeasures for reference. The research results have been affirmed by the leaders of the Central Committee and Chongqing City and adopted by decision-making consultation 15 times. Assist the Ministry of Public Security in filming the "Video Demonstration of Standardized Law Enforcement by Public Security Organs" as a demonstration teaching film for standardized law enforcement by public security police across the country. Participated in the "8.12" Tianjin Port Explosion and other work organized by the Ministry of Public Security, serving more than 3,000 public security police. One peacekeeping policeman and two first secretaries stationed in the village for targeted poverty alleviation were dispatched. In the past three years, the "Send Education and Service to the Grassroots" activity has been carried out to serve more than 1,300 public security police; participated in large-scale security, guard tasks and people-loving practices and other activities for more than 20,000 people; assisted the public security organs in handling 21 cases, including 11 major and serious cases.

Cooperation and Exchange The school adheres to open education, and promotes school-bureau, school-enterprise, school-school cooperation and international exchanges at multiple levels and with multiple measures. Relying on the in-depth co-construction platform of the school and bureau, it has carried out extensive collaborative education with 28 directly affiliated units of the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau and 41 district and county public security bureaus. Cooperate with Chongqing University, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Sichuan International Studies University, H3C Group and other institutions to carry out talent training. Carry out various forms of exchanges and cooperation with many countries and regions such as the United States, Singapore, and Hong Kong, and carry out student credit transfer projects with the British Columbia Judicial College in Canada. Carry out co-construction and exchange activities with the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization International Judicial Exchange and Cooperation Training Base, Lancang-Mekong Comprehensive Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation Center and other organizations. Solidly carry out international law enforcement training, and have held 4 foreign police training sessions, training more than 70 law enforcement officers from 10 countries.

Talent training Since its establishment, the school has trained more than 15,000 graduates and is known as the "cradle of Bayu police." There are currently 1,599 students on campus, and 2,066 undergraduate graduates after upgrading to undergraduate.
