University of History

• Hong Kong School of Government Senior Industrial (1937)

The Hong Kong School of Public High School is established. The school building is located in Wan Chai Living Road. It is the earliest predecessor of the school. It is also the first college funded by the government to provide specialized in engineering education.

• Hong Kong Industrial College (1947)

After the Second World War, it was renamed the Hong Kong Industrial College.In 1957, the school building was completed and launched a new page of the history of Hong Kong's industrial education.

• Hong Kong Institute of Technology (1972)

The Hong Kong Institute of Technology was formally established, and its mission was to start professional courses to meet the needs of society for professionals.

• Hong Kong Polytechnic University (November 25, 1994)

The college was awarded the qualifications of self -evaluation by the college and the Science and Technology Education Funding Committee, officially obtained the university status, and it was named Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
