James Silverman is a British photographer residing in Gothenburg, Sweden. For the past 7 years, he has been serving as the Nordic correspondent for The New York Times. James shoots public and private buildings and interiors, and also provides drone photography. His works have been published globally, appearing on the covers of over 200 magazines, and his own book 'INFINITE SPACE' is published by Gestalten.
James Silverman was born in London, UK and currently resides in Gothenburg, Sweden. Over the past twenty years, he has traveled the world, capturing the essence of contemporary design and architecture with his own lens. As is well known, he once hovered in mid air at a height of 18 meters, climbed various roofs, built scaffolding towers, and piloted drones to obtain perspectives to reveal the architect's ideas. In commercial filming, James arranged furniture sponsorship and other props - the weirdest of which was purchasing live camels and horses in Marrakesh, Morocco.
James' photos have been published in numerous internationally renowned publications, including Architectural Digest, Residence, and Fashion Life, with over 200 cover photos in 26 countries. He often reports on Nordic countries for The New York Times. James studied art at Chelsea College of Art in London, majoring in fine arts, and graphic design at the University of Manchester.
In the 1990s, he traveled to India and was inspired by photography, using a camera instead of a sketchbook. After returning to the UK, he began a five-year in-depth study of photography, with some time spent studying at Westminster City College in London.
