Inter Research - a journal covering a wide range of topics from marine ecology to scientific ethics

IR is a well-respected publisher of scientific journals and books. It is known for the high quality of its publications, its attention to detail in all matters, and its professional and approachable staff.

Inter-Research (IR) began as a three-person company based in Professor Kinnes private home, publishing one volume per year in the Marine Ecology Progress Series. Of course, all communications were conducted by snail mail. Since then, IR has expanded and grown tremendously, but remains a family business, with its headquarters in the small German village of Oldendorf/Luhe. The number of in-house staff directly involved in the publishing process has grown to more than 25 people. Almost all steps, from manuscript submission to online publication, are handled in-house.

Currently, IR publishes about 40 volumes per year, including the combined publication of 8 journals, covering a wide range of topics from marine ecology to scientific ethics.

IR is proud to continue to pursue Professor Kinnes goal of achieving the ultimate rigor in scientific publishing. Professor Kinne believed that science is one of the foundations of the development of human society, ultimately shaping our way of life and the survival of our species. Only science that meets the highest standards of quality control can provide well-founded knowledge that allows us to make appropriate decisions when planning for the future.
