We produce, acquire, and broadcast information, sports, culture, music, and entertainment programs for all audiences in the French speaking region of Switzerland. Our high-quality comprehensive courses are open to everyone and produced under our authorization and licensing, with independence, credibility, and information balance. When dealing with current regional, national, and international issues, we provide a French perspective to view the reality around us.

Our studios are located in Geneva and Lausanne, with offices in each French speaking region and journalists in Bern, Zurich, Lugano, and major international capitals.

RTS has an annual budget of 380 million Swiss francs and employs 1800 people, making it a leading company in the French speaking Swiss market.

As a private law company managed according to the principle of a public limited company, SSR does not pursue any profit motive, nor does it serve any cause or interest outside of the public. SSR is authorized by the federal government. Therefore, its mission and goals are based on the Federal Constitution, Radio and Television Law (LRTV), and franchise rights. Through its four regional business units (RTS, SRF, RSI and RTR), SSR provides 17 radio stations, 7 TV channels and a wide range of Internet and mobile channels. The mission of SRG Media is to provide information, entertainment, and education. These plans meet the expectations of both the majority and the minority. Quality, relevance, and diversity are the characteristics of SSR channels, thus standing out from private or foreign channels.

SSR is the only media company that produces audiovisual content in four language regions and four ethnic languages. This is attributed to typical Swiss values such as solidarity and federalism, which form the foundation of its philosophy and inspire employees in their daily work. Only with the unity of the German speaking people in Switzerland can the Soviet Socialist Republic provide diverse, high-quality radio, television, and online services to other language regions on a daily basis. In fact, the German speaking region of Switzerland only received 535 million francs out of 895 million francs. The remaining 360 million Swiss francs will be distributed as follows: 115 million Swiss francs will be allocated to the French speaking region of Switzerland, 225 million Swiss francs will be allocated to Italian Swiss francs, and 20 million Swiss francs will be allocated to Romansh speaking Switzerland. Due to its fiscal equalization, the Soviet Socialist Republic greatly contributed to national cohesion, mutual understanding and communication between different linguistic regions.

Revenue from sponsorships, projects, and services, as well as federal donations to SWI swissinfo.ch, are reported directly to various corporate departments. Resource allocation is developed as part of the company wide financial planning and budgeting process and approved by the SSR board of directors.
