Backcountry was born from a love for equipment and a passion for exploration.

It all started here, this is a store named after the Backcountry family. You will discover the highest performance outdoor equipment, as well as clothing and expert level equipment knowledge. This includes camping, cross-country running, mountain biking, alpine and Nordic skiing, mountaineering, backpacking, and more, all under one roof.

• What happened

There is nothing better than working at an altitude of 9000 feet. Cycling on winding asphalt roads, mountain biking on miles of IMBA gold medal trails, or endless powder skiing in the Wasatch Mountains are all standard courses for your lunch break.

• Local color

Throughout the summer concerts, winter Sundance, and some of the best Western restaurants, the local colors are vibrant. You don't need to travel for more than a few minutes to see it, and if you want to experience the city more, Salt Lake City is only a 30 minute drive away.

The snowfall in Utah is legendary, but living at high altitudes also means you can enjoy the colors of autumn, cool mornings of spring, and warm summer nights. For anyone who thrives outdoors, this is a new paradise every three to four months.
