Gabriel was later the Tel (European Library) project, which runs from 2001 to 2004 and created a framework for major European countries and deposit collection. The project provides some funds by the Fifth Framework of the European Commission. The National Library participating in the TEL project is Finland, Germany, Italy (Florence), Italy (Rome), the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom library. This led to the starting website of Theeuropeanlibrary.org on March 17, 2005.
