Xiangyang Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time multi-disciplinary higher vocational college established in August 2000 with the approval of the People's Government of Hubei Province and the record of the Ministry of Education. The college is a national backbone higher vocational college, a national high-quality junior college, a national "double high plan" project construction unit, a national civilized unit, and one of the top 100 colleges of vocational education in China. The college's special education professional group is a high-level professional group established under the "Double High Plan" of the Ministry of Education. Five majors, including nursing, medical imaging technology, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, automobile inspection and maintenance technology, and numerical control technology, are key construction majors of national backbone higher vocational colleges. Special education majors are national characteristic majors, logistics management and preschool education majors are majors supported by the central government, and nursing majors are national training bases for skilled and scarce talents. Three professional groups, including special education, modern agriculture and animal husbandry, and medical technology, are provincial high-level professional groups established.
