Yellow River Institute of Science and Technology was born and grew up in the tide of reform and opening up. In 1984, Hu Dabai, who was severely burned on duty, was thinking on his sickbed that Henan, as a populous province, had extremely scarce higher education resources, and the children of ordinary people had a strong desire to go to college, and social development urgently needed a large number of specialized talents; with the lofty ideal of "sharing the country's worries, solving the people's worries, and serving the socialist modernization construction", he thought about what the country thought, what the country was anxious about, and what the country needed, and took out only 30 yuan to establish the Zhengzhou Higher Education Self-study Examination Tutorial Class. In 1985, with the approval of the Zhengzhou Municipal Education Commission, the Zhengzhou Higher Education Self-study Examination Tutorial Class was renamed the Yellow River Science and Technology College. In 1989, with the approval of the Henan Provincial Education Commission, the Yellow River Science and Technology College was renamed the Zhengzhou Yellow River Science and Technology University. In 1994, the private Yellow River Institute of Science and Technology was established with the approval of the State Education Commission, and the school became the first private college in China to implement college education. In 1997, the Party Committee was established, becoming the first private college in China to establish a Party Committee. In 2000, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to become the first private college in China to implement undergraduate education. In 2008, the school successfully passed the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching level of ordinary colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education, and the expert group called it "shocked and shocked". In 2013, the school was approved by the Ministry of Education as the first batch of "Applied Science and Technology University Reform Pilot Strategic Research Units" in the country. Professor Hu Dabai, the founder and chairman of the school, is the first "Chinese Contemporary Education Master", a representative of the 10th National People's Congress, and an expert enjoying the special allowance of the State Council. He was the chairman of the Supervisory Board of the China Private Education Association and the president of the Henan Private Education Association, and is currently the honorary president.
