Chongqing Technology and Business University was founded in 1952 and was formed in 2002 by the merger of the former Yuzhou University and the former Chongqing Business College. It is a high-level applied research university of finance and economics with disciplines such as economics, management, literature, engineering, law, science, and art. It is a key university supported by the national "Basic Capacity Construction Project for Colleges and Universities in Central and Western China" and an international humanities university in Chongqing. The school inherits and promotes the spirit of Chongqing Technology and Business University of "self-reliance, governance and benefiting the people", adheres to the school-running philosophy of "quality-based school, characteristic-based school, talent-based school", follows the school motto of "virtue, erudition, truth-seeking and innovation", seizes major opportunities for the development of higher education, rapidly improves its comprehensive strength, continuously enhances its core competitiveness, and expands its social influence. In recent years, the school has won the honorary titles of Chongqing's "Top Ten Garden-style Units", "Civilized Units", Chongqing's first batch of "Beautiful Campuses", Chongqing's "Advanced Grassroots Party Organizations", "Advanced Grassroots Party Organizations in the Education System", and Chongqing's "May 1st" Labor Award.

  1. Discipline Construction

In recent years, the school has taken the "Double First-Class" national strategy as its guide, aimed at the international forefront of discipline development, driven by the innovative development of business and industry integration of "big business + new engineering", and focused on the "discipline-scientific research-platform-team" four-in-one construction. Strengthen the advantages of economics and management, create science and engineering boutiques, cultivate liberal arts and art brands, and build a discipline ecological system for the integration of multiple disciplines. The school currently has 4 national specialty majors, 13 national "first-class majors", 28 Chongqing "first-class majors", 5 municipal specialty disciplines and professional groups, and 22 municipal specialty majors. There are two municipal "first-class disciplines" of applied economics and business administration, 14 municipal key disciplines such as statistics, management science and engineering, environmental science and engineering; two Chongqing "artificial intelligence +" discipline groups of smart business and smart finance; engineering, chemistry, and materials science are among the top 1% of ESI global universities and research institutions. Approved 1 doctoral talent training project serving national special needs, 1 applied economics postdoctoral research mobile station, 2 postdoctoral research workstations, 14 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 21 master's professional degree authorization points. In the fourth round of discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education, 6 disciplines of our school were listed, ranking in the top 70% of the country, of which 5 disciplines ranked first among municipal universities.

  1. Talent training

The school closely combines the talent needs of regional economic and social development, and strives to cultivate high-quality application-oriented, compound and specialized talents with innovative spirit and practical ability. There are more than 30,000 full-time undergraduate and graduate students in the school. The talent training level has achieved a major breakthrough from junior college-second-tier college-master's degree to second-tier college-first-tier-master's degree-doctoral degree. Since 2012, the first batch of undergraduate admissions has been implemented in some provinces for the first time. The first batch or admissions exceeding the special type qualification control line have covered 55 majors in 20 provinces, and the actual number of admissions exceeds 90% of the total number of admissions. The quality of students continues to improve; it has won 2 second prizes for national teaching achievements; there are 3 national (virtual simulation) experimental teaching demonstration centers such as the National Economic Management Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, and the level of talent training support services continues to improve; in recent years, the number of graduates taking postgraduate and doctoral examinations and the pass rate have increased significantly, and the high-quality employment rate has reached more than 55%; students have won more than 2,400 provincial and ministerial awards in various competitions such as the "Challenge Cup" National College Students Extracurricular Science and Technology Competition; the high-level college women's volleyball team won the Chongqing Volleyball Competition for 26 consecutive championships. The quality of talent training in the school has been further recognized and was rated as "the top 50 typical universities in the country for employment".

  1. Scientific research and transformation of results

The school attaches great importance to scientific research and technological development, actively promotes the transformation of scientific results, and serves regional economic construction and social development. It has 41 scientific research institutions at the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education and Chongqing, including the International Science and Technology Cooperation Base for Intelligent Manufacturing Services, the Yangtze River Upper Reaches Economic Research Center, a key research base for humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, and the Engineering Research Center for Waste Oil Resource Technology and Equipment of the Ministry of Education. In the past five years, more than 200 National Social Science Fund projects and National Natural Science Fund projects have been approved. The number of National Social Science Fund projects has ranked among the top five financial and economic universities in the country for three consecutive years; the approval of national projects such as the National Key R&D Program Project and the National Natural Science Foundation "Excellent Youth" Project has achieved a historic breakthrough; it has won major awards such as the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and the First Prize of the Ministry of Education's Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award for Higher Education Institutions (Humanities and Social Sciences). In recent years, the school has made new achievements in the construction of new-type university think tanks. More than 900 think tank results have been submitted around the "Belt and Road", the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle, and 60 instructions from central leaders (including 39 instructions from the main central leaders); more than 200 scientific and technological achievements have been transferred and transformed, and selected into the top 60 Chinese university patent transfers, and won the "2018 China Think Tank Advisory and Local Contribution Award". IV. Talent team building

The school currently has more than 2,400 faculty and staff, including nearly 1,900 full-time teachers, more than 860 faculty and staff with senior titles, more than 920 doctoral degree teachers, and the proportion of full-time doctoral teachers is close to 50%. There are 13 provincial and ministerial innovation teams. V. Cooperative Education

The school actively carries out cooperative education, actively integrates into the joint construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative", gives full play to the advantages of characteristic disciplines, actively builds a global cooperation network, and vigorously promotes the internationalization process. The school has 2 non-independent legal person Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions reviewed and approved by the Ministry of Education; the Regional and Other Countries Research Center registered by the Ministry of Education-Southeast Asia Research Center; and has established partnerships with nearly 100 universities in 31 countries (regions) to carry out all-round, wide-ranging and multi-level international cooperation and exchanges. It has jointly trained bachelor's and master's students with internationally renowned universities such as the Montreal Business School in Canada, and has opened international specialty project classes such as ACCA, CFA, and CIMA; it has been approved as a national international science and technology cooperation base, an international humanities school of Chongqing universities, and a demonstration school for international exchange and cooperation in Chongqing. It is a member university of the "Belt and Road" China-Poland University Alliance. It has established school-local cooperation relations with many districts (counties) in Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Shandong and other provinces (cities), and has established strategic cooperation relations with many universities such as Renmin University of China, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. It has carried out in-depth industry-university-research cooperation and industry-education integration and collaborative education with more than 200 companies such as NIIT, Xindao Company, and Taiji Group. At the same time, in accordance with the idea of ​​"transmitting, connecting, building, praising, and helping", it continuously establishes and improves alumni organizations and work mechanisms, gives full play to the role of alumni, and deepens the cooperation between schools and local governments, schools and enterprises, and schools.

VI. School conditions

The school adheres to the concept of environmental education and cultural education, and strives to create a garden-style campus. It is one of Chongqing's "Top Ten Garden-style Units", "Civilized Units" and the first batch of "Beautiful Campuses" in Chongqing. The new library, built in accordance with the standards of "first-class facilities and environment" in colleges and universities in the central and western regions, has become a popular place for study and research among teachers and students. The construction of the Guangyang Island campus continues to advance, the functional layout and resource allocation of the Nan'an, Lanhua Lake, Jiangbei and other campuses are constantly improving, the school conditions are significantly improved, and the sense of gain and satisfaction of teachers and students continues to increase.
