Chongqing University of Science and Technology is a full-time public undergraduate college. It was established by merging two former central government-affiliated schools that started in 1951 and maintained a good reputation - Chongqing Industrial College and Chongqing Petroleum College (a national key construction school for exemplary higher engineering colleges). It was formally approved by the Ministry of Education in May 2004. The school is a pilot unit of the National Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, a vice-chairman unit of the National Alliance of Applied Technology Universities (Colleges), a vice-chairman unit of the National Alliance of Newly Established Undergraduate Colleges, and a chairman unit of the Chongqing Municipal University Transformation and Development Alliance. The school covers an area of ​​nearly 3,500 acres, with a total area of ​​about 687,000 square meters of school buildings, about 66,000 square meters of school buildings under construction, and a total value of 497 million yuan in teaching and scientific research equipment.
