Army Medical University

The Chinese People's Liberation Army Army Medical University, located in the beautiful mountainous city of China - Chongqing, is a military medical university with a glorious history and distinctive military characteristics. It is one of the first batch of national key universities after the founding of New China. It is one of the key construction colleges of the military's "2110 Project", with a deputy army-level establishment and a pilot university for the "Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program".

The school was formed in 1954 by the merger of the former Sixth and Seventh Military Medical Universities. The predecessor of the Sixth Military Medical University was the Fourth Field Army Medical School and the former National Zhongzheng Medical College. The predecessor of the Seventh Military Medical University was the Second Field Army Medical University. It was renamed the Third Military Medical University in 1975 and the Army Medical University in 2017. The name of the Third Military Medical University is retained externally.

According to the information on the school's official website in September 2014, the school covers an area of ​​205.63 hectares (3,084.43 acres), with a building area of ​​1.5513 million square meters, instruments and equipment with a total value of 2.7 billion yuan, and a library with a collection of 720,000 Chinese and foreign books.
