Chongqing YiTong College

Chongqing Yitong College (formerly Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications Yitong College) was established in 2000. It is a full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education and supervised by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. It recruits students from all over the country.

The school is located in Hechuan and Qijiang. The campus is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with a beautiful environment and convenient transportation. The school has first-class facilities and equipment such as standardized laboratories, modern theaters, high-standard libraries, Wanhua Cinemas, wind and rain playgrounds, and indoor constant temperature swimming pools. There are nearly 28,000 students and 1,215 full-time teachers. There are 12 secondary colleges including the School of Communication and Information Engineering, the School of Intelligent Engineering, the School of Big Data and Computer Science, the Quelian Business School, the Vision College, the German Engineering College, the School of Art and Media, the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Digital Economy and Information Management, the School of Information Security, the School of Drama and Film, and the School of Big Health Management, 12 colleges including the Ailian College, the Huaguo College, the Biedu College, the Nanhu College, the Tianqu College, and the Qihe College, 4 teaching departments including the Ideological and Political Teaching Department and the General Education Department, as well as several special departments including the Perfect Education Committee, the Creative Writing College, the Double-body Software Elite Industry College, the Diaoyucheng Science Fiction College, the Diaoyucheng Research Institute, and the German Research Institute. The school has a total of 44 undergraduate majors including communication engineering, electrical engineering and automation, rail transit and signal control, financial management, engineering management, and radio and television editing and directing, and 4 junior college majors including communication technology and industrial and commercial enterprise management, forming a professional system with engineering as the main subject, and cross-disciplinary integration and coordinated development of management, art, and other disciplines.

Since the establishment of the Sino-German Institute of Applied Technology with the University of Applied Sciences Anhalt in Germany, the school has signed cooperative education agreements with more than ten universities in Germany, the United States and other countries, and has widely carried out joint education activities for master's and undergraduate degrees. At present, nearly 800 students have been sent abroad for further studies, and more than 1,700 students are preparing to go to Germany.

The school has achieved remarkable results in running schools with distinctive characteristics. In recent years, it has won 2,267 awards at the municipal level or above in club activities, volunteer services, art education, competitive sports, etc., including 820 national awards such as the hottest public welfare campus in the country, the China Drama Award·Campus Drama Award, and the first place in the finals of the National Campus Triathlon Invitational Tournament. Students have participated in various professional and subject competitions at the national, provincial and ministerial levels and won thousands of awards, including the first prize of the National College Student Digital Modeling Competition, the third place in the special prize of the China Engineering Robot Competition and International Open, and the first prize of the national finals of the "Siemens Cup" China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge twice, and 111 national awards and 30 national first and special prizes. In the past five years, teachers have undertaken 129 teaching and research projects at or above the municipal level, published 757 papers, including 159 core journal papers, 12 papers indexed by SCI and EI, and obtained 36 patents of various types. 221 books and textbooks have been published.

The school has achieved remarkable results in talent training quality. In recent years, the employment rate of school graduates has remained above 92%, and the high employment rate and high employer satisfaction rate are among the best in similar universities in the country. The school has nearly 50,000 graduates, mainly employed in communications, manufacturing, software development and other industries, and basically achieved matching employment. The school has won the second prize and the Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievements in Party Building and Ideological and Political Work in Private Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education for two consecutive terms. It is the first batch of model schools for law-based governance, garden-style units, digital campuses, and employment demonstration centers in the city. In 2016, it was rated as an employment demonstration center in Chongqing. In 2017, the school's education and teaching achievements won the third prize of the fifth teaching achievement in Chongqing. In 2018, it was rated as "the city's advanced collective for employment and entrepreneurship of ordinary college graduates".
