Chongqing Industrial Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public general college organized by the Chongqing Municipal Government and supervised by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. The school was formerly the Chongqing Machinery Manufacturing School, which was founded by the former Ministry of Machinery Industry in 1956; in 2000, Chongqing Machinery Manufacturing School and Chongqing Machinery Workers University merged and upgraded to Chongqing Industrial Vocational and Technical College; in 2006, it was approved as the first batch of 28 national demonstration higher vocational colleges; in 2010, it moved to Yubei Airport as a whole; in 2019, it was approved as a construction unit of the Chinese Characteristic High-level Higher Vocational School and Professional Construction Plan (B file).

The school covers an area of ​​1,287.79 acres, with a building area of ​​342,000 square meters. There are more than 18,400 full-time students.
