Fujian Business School is located in Fuzhou, a historical and cultural city known as the "Zou Lu of the Seaside". It is the only provincial higher education institution in Fujian Province with a century-old name of "business". The school originated from the "Fujian Official Commercial School" founded by Chen Baochen, the imperial tutor of the late Qing Dynasty in 1906, and the "Fuzhou Youth Association Academy" founded by Huang Naishang, a democratic revolutionary from Fujian. There are currently three campuses in Gulou, Lianjiang and Mawei, covering an area of ​​more than 1,500 acres.

After a hundred years of spring and autumn, the school has provided more than 100,000 business professionals to the society and made positive contributions to the development of Fujian's economic and trade undertakings. A large number of alumni hold important positions in government agencies, enterprises and institutions, and a large number of large and medium-sized business enterprises founded by alumni are spread all over the country and even the world. The school has a great social reputation and is known as the "Cradle of Fujian Merchants" and "Cradle of Foreign Trade". In recent years, the school has been rated as "Top 50 Universities with Typical Employment Experience for Graduates in China", "National Advanced Unit for Social Practice of College Students", and "Fujian Ecological Civilization Education Base". In 2017, it was approved by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council as a project university of the "Overseas Huiqiao Project--Chinese Food Prosperity Base". In 2018 and 2021, it was approved as the first and second civilized campuses in Fujian Province.

The school insists on business-oriented, focusing on new business, and leading the college's construction, discipline refinement and professional setting. There are 14 secondary teaching units, including the School of International Economics and Trade, the School of Finance, the School of Finance and Accounting, the School of Foreign Languages, and the School of Overseas Education. It offers 31 undergraduate majors, including financial management, business English, exhibition economy and management, and accounting, and 37 junior college majors, including international business, international finance, and tourism management. It has initially formed a discipline system with management and economics as the main body, and management, economics, engineering, literature, and art supporting each other, cross-penetrating, and coordinated development. The school currently has 512 full-time teachers (including two shoulders), 261 of whom have senior professional titles, accounting for 50.98%. There are 438 doctoral and master's degrees, accounting for 85.55%.

The school adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, closely follows the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people, and strives to cultivate new people of the era with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. Vigorously develop the "Marxist Reading Club" and the "Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era Reading Club". The school has won awards in all previous knowledge competitions for the undergraduate group of college students in Fujian Province to study Marxist theory, including 1 first prize for the group, 2 third prizes, 2 first prizes for individuals, and 4 third prizes, becoming a red flag of the school. The "Political Economics Forum" was selected as one of the first "Top Ten Forums" of philosophy and social sciences in colleges and universities in Fujian Province. In recent years, students have participated in various entrepreneurial and subject skills competitions at all levels and won 418 awards in various innovation and entrepreneurship and subject skills competitions (98 at the national level and 320 at the provincial level). The men's volleyball team won the runner-up in the "China University Volleyball Championship", the men's football team won the runner-up in the Fujian Division of the "China University Football League", and the representative team won the first place in the national cheerleading league's collective flower ball campus demonstration routine and double street dance free action. In conjunction with Fuzhou Juchunyuan Group, a time-honored Chinese brand and one of the top 100 Chinese catering companies, we have established the Juchunyuan Cooking School of culture + skills. In conjunction with Fujian Huiyuan International Exhibition Co., Ltd., a leading enterprise in the national exhibition industry, we have jointly created the practical Huiyuan Exhibition Industry College. In conjunction with the Fujian Branch of China Life Insurance Co., Ltd., a large-scale financial insurance company, we have established the Life Insurance Industry College with the goal of collaboratively cultivating high-end talents in the insurance industry.

The school adheres to open education, giving full play to its locational advantages of being located in the important birthplace of the "Maritime Silk Road" and the Fuzhou Free Trade Zone, adjacent to Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, and facing Southeast Asia, serving the construction of countries along the "Belt and Road" and striving to draw a new blueprint for international open cooperation in running schools.
