The ability of scientific research and innovation has been greatly improved: in 2020, a total of 3.816 billion yuan of scientific research funds were obtained.Since the "Thirteenth Five -Year Plan", the school has obtained 78 national key research and development plan projects, ranking among the top 5 universities across the country; the annual project of the National Social Science Fund project in 2020 ranks first in the country.The projects are ranked second in the country, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China has won the second place in the national university.The school has a group of scientific research and innovation platforms with strong scientific and technological innovation capabilities and high academic influence at home and abroad. The scale and strength of the medical treatment ranks leading in the country: there are 10 directly affiliated hospitals (7 of them, 3 specialized hospitals).In the 2019 annual hospital rankings (comprehensive) released by the Institute of Management of Fudan University Hospital, five affiliated hospitals in our school entered the top 100 ranking, the Tumor Prevention Center and Sun Yixian Memorial Hospital entered the top 50, and the first affiliated hospital entered the 6th ranking.; Among the 40 college rankings in 2019, 20 colleges entered the top 10, 6 colleges entered the top 5 rankings, and Zhongshan Eye Center ranked first in its specialist rankings.Professor Song Erwei, Dean of Sun Yixian Memorial Hospital, was applied as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in November 2019.
