Ningbo University of Finance and Economics

Ningbo University of Finance and Economics is located in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, a national historical and cultural city and a modern international port city. It is a local applied undergraduate university with economics and management as the main disciplines, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as economics, management, engineering, literature, and art. The school was founded in 2001, approved as a general undergraduate university in 2008, and became the first batch of pilot demonstration universities for applied undergraduate construction in Zhejiang Province in 2015. In 2018, the original name of the school "Ningbo Dahongying College" was changed to "Ningbo University of Finance and Economics".

The school currently has three campuses, including the headquarters campus, Hangzhou Bay campus, and Xiangshan campus, covering an area of ​​more than 1,700 acres and a building area of ​​780,000 square meters; it has teaching units such as the School of International Economics and Trade, the School of Finance and Information, the School of Business Administration, the School of Wealth Management, the School of Digital Technology and Engineering, the School of Humanities, the School of Art and Design, the Xiangshan Film and Television School, the Basic College, the School of Marxism, the School of Adult Continuing Education, the School of International Education, and the Public Cultural and Sports Department, 42 undergraduate majors, and nearly 20,000 full-time undergraduate students; it has more than 1,000 faculty and staff, of which 89.12% are teachers with master's degrees or above, 34% are teachers with associate senior degrees or above, and 48.3% are teachers with dual qualifications and dual abilities. There are nearly 100 high-level talents such as the provincial 151 talents, provincial university leaders, provincial young and middle-aged discipline leaders, provincial teaching masters, and municipal leading talents.

There are currently 1 national first-class undergraduate major construction site, 2 national first-class undergraduate courses, 3 provincial first-class disciplines, and 4 municipal key disciplines. In the past three years, 107 vertical scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial level have been approved, including 1 National Natural Science Foundation project and 12 National Social Science Foundation projects. There are 20 provincial first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, provincial emerging characteristics, and key majors with advantages. In the past five years, 64 Ministry of Education industry-university cooperation and collaborative education projects have been approved, 22 provincial and municipal teaching achievement awards have been won, and students have won more than 1,700 national competition awards; the school was rated as a "National Private University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Demonstration School".

Based on the development needs of regional economy, society, new industries and new formats, the school deepens the integration of industry and education under the guidance of the value of "double innovation", and continues to carry out a series of reforms in the cultivation of high-quality application-oriented talents. It co-builds and manages 7 characteristic industry colleges such as the Commodity Business School and the Great Wall Business School with enterprises, and forms a "dual-college system" collaborative education model. It is the first among similar universities in the country to establish a physical entrepreneurship college that integrates schools and enterprises, and is the first to set up an undergraduate major in entrepreneurship management, build a multi-level entrepreneurship education system, and form a pattern of cultivating application-oriented talents with professional and creative integration; cooperate with high-tech enterprises to create a new space for smart learning, continue to promote innovative reforms in classroom teaching, deepen the construction of curriculum connotation, implement intelligent monitoring of classroom teaching based on curriculum standards, and promote the improvement of teaching effectiveness; implement a full-time tutor system, and students of all grades form a scroll-style vertical academic growth class, and a diverse tutor team helps students grow academically; implement an incentive plan for the growth of outstanding talents, set up personalized training plans and honorary degrees, and help outstanding students develop.

The school continues to refine the direction of discipline development, create a high-level discipline platform, and actively provide technical services and intellectual support to industry enterprises through interdisciplinary integration and collaborative innovation of industry, academia and research; facing the development needs of regional small and medium-sized enterprises and emerging industries, focusing on the research fields of commodity circulation, innovation and entrepreneurship of small and medium-sized enterprises, family wealth management, financial big data technology, cultural relics protection and cultural heritage, new generation of electronic information technology, cultural communication and visual system design, film and television production and film and television industry management, and strive to create advantageous and characteristic disciplines.

The school has established long-term and stable inter-school exchange and cooperation relations with more than 50 universities and institutions at home and abroad; cooperated with Northern Arizona University, Illinois State University, University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, East-West University, South Korea, University of South Wales, etc. to hold various credit recognition projects; co-established the "China-Slovakia Silk Road College" and "Slovakia Education and Research Center" with the Bratislava School of Economics and Public Administration in Slovakia; co-established the "Ningbo-Central and Eastern Europe Student Film and Television Alliance" with Central and Eastern European cooperative universities and institutions; hundreds of teachers and students participate in foreign exchange students, exchange student programs, and further studies and visiting activities every year.
