Hangzhou Medical College is located in Hangzhou, which enjoys the reputation of "paradise on earth". It is a full-time public undergraduate medical college organized by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province. It is also the only medical undergraduate college directly under the Zhejiang Provincial Health Commission.

Historical evolution: Hangzhou Medical College was formerly the Zhejiang Provincial Women's Obstetrics School founded in 1925. It has gone through Zhejiang Provincial Hangzhou Advanced Medical Vocational School, Zhejiang Hangzhou Health School, Zhejiang Health School, Zhejiang Medical College, etc. In 2016, it was upgraded to a medical undergraduate college. It has a history of more than 90 years. It is one of the medical schools in the province with the most primary medical and health services and health industry-related majors. The predecessor of Zhejiang Academy of Medical Sciences was the Hangzhou Institute of Tropical Diseases, which was founded in 1928. It has gone through Zhejiang Health Experimental Institute, Zhejiang Academy of Medical Sciences, Zhejiang People's Health Experimental Institute, Zhejiang Medical Research Institute, etc. It was renamed Zhejiang Academy of Medical Sciences in 1987. It is the largest public welfare comprehensive medical and health research institution in our province. In 2019, the former Zhejiang Academy of Medical Sciences and the former Hangzhou Medical College merged as a whole to form the new Hangzhou Medical College.

School conditions: There are three campuses in Lin'an, Binjiang and Huanglong and Qingshan Lake Science and Technology Innovation Center. The school covers an area of ​​754 acres and the school building area is 390,000 square meters. The total value of the current teaching and scientific research equipment is 401 million yuan. There are more than 20 authoritative professional databases at home and abroad, such as the full-text resources of the National Science and Technology Library and Documentation Center; there is one directly affiliated hospital (Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital), 13 non-directly affiliated hospitals, and nearly 200 off-campus practical teaching bases.

Disciplines and majors: There are 9,928 full-time junior college students, undergraduates, and graduate students. Scientific research and social services: There are 8 provincial key laboratories (experimental animals and safety evaluation, medical bioengineering vaccine research and development, drug safety evaluation technology research, gastroenterology, tumor molecular diagnosis and individualized treatment, neuropsychiatric drug research, endocrine gland disease diagnosis and treatment research, biomarkers and in vitro diagnostic transformation), 2 provincial engineering research centers (digestive tract tumor diagnosis and treatment and drug development, new vaccines), and 1 postdoctoral research workstation.
