Wenzhou Business School

Wenzhou Business School is the only undergraduate business school in southern Zhejiang, northern Fujian and eastern Jiangxi. It is located in Wenzhou, the birthplace of the Yongjia School and the pioneer of China's private economy. The school is adjacent to the "Xuanmen Holy Mountain" Daluo Mountain in the south and the "Venice of Southern Zhejiang" San'an Wetland in the north. It is only half an hour's drive from the airport and the train station. The campus environment is beautiful and the facilities are first-class. The crew of the CCTV hit drama "Three Families in Wenzhou" and other dramas have come to the school to shoot.

The school originated from the School of Information Science and Engineering and the School of Economics of Wenzhou University, which were founded in 1999. In 2005, the school was merged to form Wenzhou University City College, an independent college. Gu Chaohao, a famous mathematician and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, wrote the name of the school, and Sun Yisui, a famous astrophysicist and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, served as the honorary dean. In 2016, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school became the first full-time private undergraduate college in Zhejiang Province to be successfully converted from an independent college, and was renamed Wenzhou Business College. Professor Li Yang, a member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, chairman of the National Finance and Development Laboratory, and former vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, served as the president. The school was approved to be included in the Zhejiang Province's new master's degree project construction unit, and won the title of Wenzhou City's "Advanced Collective for Promoting High-Quality Development in Wenzhou" and Zhejiang Province's 4A-level Safe Campus.

The school gives full play to the advantages of the "lean, efficient, flexible and pragmatic" private mechanism, adheres to the connotation development, characteristic development, innovative development and safe development, takes it as its own responsibility to inherit and carry forward the spirit of Wenzhou people who "dare to be the first and are particularly capable of entrepreneurship", continues the Yongjia School of Thought of "applying knowledge to the world", adheres to the school motto of "strengthening ambition and striving for progress with the times", and practices the educational concept of "growth will make people, success will make people do things", based in Wenzhou, facing Zhejiang, radiating across the country, and strives to cultivate high-quality application-oriented talents with international vision and modern business spirit, and has embarked on a road of running a high-level local application-oriented university with Wenzhou's recognition. From 2019 to 2022, in the Wu Shulian China Private University Rankings, the school ranked first in China's first-class private universities and school selection order for four consecutive years.

The school consists of the School of Finance and Trade, the School of Management, the International College, the School of Media and Design Arts, and the School of Information Engineering. It has a total of 21 undergraduate majors and 10 junior college majors, with more than 15,000 students, forming a professional cluster with applied economics and business administration as the main branches, and computer science and technology, journalism and communication, and design developing in a coordinated manner.

The school insists on serving the local area and closely connects with the needs of Wenzhou's economic and social development. It has established scientific research institutions such as the Wenzhou Research Base of the National Finance and Development Laboratory, the Wenzhou "Two Health" Research Institute, and the Wenzhou "Belt and Road" Research Center. In 2019, it ranked first in the country in the "Independent College to University Research Comprehensive Competitiveness Index". The results of the project have been repeatedly affirmed by the central, provincial, and municipal leaders. Among them, "Research on the Construction and Application of Financial Risk Index in China" was approved as a major project of the National Social Science Fund, "Research on Innovation of Macroeconomic Control Theory" was approved as a key project of the National Social Science Fund, and the "Evaluation Indicators for Healthy Growth of Private Entrepreneurs" led by the "Two Health" Research Institute has become a local standard in Zhejiang Province. The school also has the country's first "Qinqing Zhengshang School", Wenzhou Township College, Daluoshan Cadre Education and Training Center and other talent training bases, training various types of talents for departments and industries inside and outside the province, and has a high influence in society.

In the Zhejiang Provincial College Student Satisfaction Evaluation conducted by the China Higher Education Student Information and Career Center, our school ranks among the top 107 colleges and universities in the province, and ranks first among private undergraduate colleges and universities.

The school is rooted in the unique entrepreneurial land of Wenzhou. It has always insisted on creating the characteristics of entrepreneurial education, integrating entrepreneurial education throughout the entire process of talent training, and continuously deepening the exploration and reform of entrepreneurial education models. It took the lead in establishing the entrepreneurial business decision-making simulation laboratory "Wenzhou Business Dream Factory", launched the V-Chuang business decision-making training course, and opened an undergraduate major in entrepreneurship management. By creating a real business environment and a real entrepreneurial practice platform, it truly realizes the integration of "teaching and doing" and cultivates students' entrepreneurial awareness and entrepreneurial ability. It has been praised by China Education Television and other media as the "Wenzhou Business School Model" for college students' entrepreneurial education, attracting more and more students who are interested in entrepreneurship to apply for admission.

The school is committed to international cooperation, broadening overseas channels for further study, and launching the "Elite Plan" project based on the characteristics of the source of students to achieve students' dreams of studying abroad and achieve a gorgeous turn. More than 2,000 students have gone to world-renowned universities for further study through the "Elite Class", involving more than 100 overseas universities, of which nearly 1,000 students have entered the top 100 QS ranking universities such as the University of Edinburgh in the UK and the University of Sydney in Australia. In 2019, the official IELTS test center in southern Zhejiang was established in our school.

The school adheres to the strategy of "strengthening the school with talents" and has a high-level teaching staff with a reasonable structure, excellent quality, and a combination of full-time and part-time teachers.
