Chengdu Medical College is a full-time general higher medical college organized by the People's Government of Sichuan Province. It is located in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. The school was selected into the first batch of "Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, the "100 Schools Project" of the Ministry of Education's Data China, and the Sichuan 2011 Plan. It is a provincial-level demonstration university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in Sichuan.

The college can be traced back to the health cadre training class opened by the Henan-Anhui-Suzhou Military Region in 1947. In August 2004, according to the decision of the State Council and the Central Military Commission, the school was transferred to the Sichuan Provincial Government and renamed from the Chengdu Military Medical College of the Third Military Medical University to Chengdu Medical College. In 2011, the school became a master's degree awarding institution.

As of April 2021, the school has two campuses, Xindu and Tianhui, covering an area of ​​more than 1,200 acres. There are 13,500 full-time students at the master's, undergraduate and junior college levels; there are 14 directly affiliated secondary teaching units; there are 23 undergraduate majors and 5 junior college majors; there are 3 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points and 5 master's professional degree authorization points; there is 1 directly affiliated hospital of Grade A tertiary level, 6 jointly built affiliated hospitals and 15 non-directly affiliated hospitals.
