Hebei University of Economics and Business is a key university in Hebei Province. It is a multidisciplinary financial university with economics, management, law as the main disciplines, as well as literature, science, engineering and art. The school was formed by the merger of Hebei University of Finance and Economics, Hebei University of Economics and Trade, Hebei Commercial College, etc., and has a history of 69 years. The school is divided into three campuses: North, South and West. The South and West campuses are independent colleges - School of Economics and Management, located in the Southwest Higher Education Zone of Shijiazhuang City, covering an area of more than 200 acres. The North Campus is the main campus of the school, which mainly provides undergraduate, graduate and international student education. It is located in the waterfront landscape belt of the western ecological zone of Shijiazhuang City, covering an area of more than 2,800 acres, with a green area of more than 40%. The school was awarded the title of "National Model Greening Unit".
The school currently has 16 undergraduate colleges, 3 teaching departments (centers), as well as the Graduate School, the School of Marxism, the School of Continuing Education, and the School of Economics and Management (independent college). It also has nearly 70 physical and non-physical research institutions, including the Institute of Economics, the Institute of Social Governance, the Hebei Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Social Governance Morality and Rule of Law, the Hebei Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for the Coordinated Development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, the Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Regional Green and Low-Carbon Development Research Institute, the Xiong'an Development Research Institute, and the Central and Eastern European International Business Training Institute.
The school has always adhered to the guidance of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thought of "Three Represents", the Scientific Outlook on Development, and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Focusing on the goal of building a modern economic power and beautiful Hebei proposed by the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, the school leadership team led all teachers and students to work together and strive for progress, which effectively promoted the rapid and sound development of the school's various undertakings, and the school's school-running ability, school-running level, social visibility and reputation continued to improve. The school currently has more than 1,800 faculty and staff, including more than 1,200 full-time teachers, more than 600 teachers with associate senior titles or above, and more than 600 doctors and doctoral students. The school has 10 provincial key disciplines and 1 provincial key development discipline, 10 first-level disciplines authorized to confer master's degrees, 18 master's professional degree authorization points, and 52 undergraduate enrollment majors. The school is one of the units responsible for the training of Chinese government scholarships for international students and international Chinese teacher scholarships. The school and Concordia University Chicago in the United States have carried out undergraduate Sino-foreign cooperative education projects, and the joint training of DBA doctoral students by the two schools has been smoothly promoted. The school has made remarkable achievements in spreading Chinese culture and promoting Chinese, and has co-founded two "Confucius Institutes" with Kathmandu University and the University of Zambia.
