North China Institute of Aerospace Engineering (formerly North China Institute of Aerospace Engineering) is a full-time public general college organized by the People's Government of Hebei Province and co-built by the provincial government, the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, and China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation. It is a master's degree awarding institution approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, a construction unit of the national "13th Five-Year Plan" application-oriented undergraduate industry-education integration development project, a model school for the transformation and development of undergraduate colleges in Hebei Province, a model school for party building, and a model school for innovation and entrepreneurship reform. It is the chairman unit of the Hebei Applied Technology University Research Association and the chairman unit of the Aerospace Applied Technology University Alliance. The school is located in the urban area of Langfang City, Hebei Province. It was founded in 1978 and has successively belonged to the Eighth General Administration of Machinery Industry, the Seventh Ministry of Machinery Industry, the Ministry of Aerospace Industry, the Ministry of Aerospace Industry, and the China Aerospace Corporation. In 1999, it was transferred to Hebei Province and implemented a management system of "co-construction by the central and local governments, with local management as the main focus". Academician Sun Jiadong, a meritorious "two bombs and one satellite", a famous launch vehicle and satellite technology expert, and a winner of the National Highest Science and Technology Award and the "Medal of the Republic", is the honorary president of the school.
The school covers an area of nearly 800 acres, divided into two campuses, east and west, with a total construction area of nearly 400,000 square meters. The campus environment is elegant and is a provincial civilized unit, an advanced unit for safety work, an advanced unit for sanitation and greening work, and a garden-style unit.
The school has nearly 1,000 faculty and staff, including more than 380 teachers with senior professional titles, more than 700 teachers with doctoral and master's degrees, and 80% of them have industry backgrounds or "dual-qualified" teachers. More than 170 experts from aerospace institutes and well-known scholars from the society are employed as part-time professors of the school to participate in the school's talent training and scientific and technological development.
The school has teaching units such as the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Electronics and Control Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Computer Science, the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Materials Engineering, the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the School of Remote Sensing Information Engineering, the School of Art and Design, the School of Marxism, the Department of Physical Education, and the Industrial Technology Center. The school currently has 2 first-level master's degree authorization points and 5 master's professional degree authorization points, 49 undergraduate majors, and 2 Sino-foreign cooperative education projects. It is a general college with engineering as the main discipline, and engineering, management, economics, literature, law, and art disciplines that support each other and develop in a coordinated manner. There are 2 national defense characteristic disciplines such as "Military Computer Application Technology" and "Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering"; there is a provincial key discipline of "Detection Technology and Automation Equipment"; there are 3 provincial key development disciplines such as "Aerospace Science and Technology", "Signal and Information Processing", and "Industrial Economics"; there are 3 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers such as "Mechanical Foundations", "Materials Engineering", and "Electrical and Electronics"; there is 1 undergraduate education innovation highland; there are 2 national first-class majors, 1 national brand specialty major, 7 provincial first-class majors, 2 provincial modern industrial colleges, 2 provincial curriculum ideological and political teaching and research demonstration centers, 1 provincial college comprehensive reform pilot college, and 3 provincial college professional comprehensive reform pilots; there are 5 provincial first-class courses, 6 provincial boutique online open courses, 4 provincial boutique courses, and 4 provincial curriculum ideological and political demonstration courses. There are more than 13,000 full-time graduate students and undergraduate students, and more than 3,000 adult higher education undergraduate and junior college students. Since its establishment, the school has provided more than 60,000 talents of various types to the society, including nearly 20,000 graduates for the aerospace system, and has won the "Aerospace Talent Contribution Award" and "Aerospace Talent Outstanding Contribution Award" many times.
The school has 50 laboratories (centers) with advanced teaching and scientific research equipment, with a total value of 200 million yuan. The school's academician workstation is a national demonstration academician expert workstation. The school is a participating unit for the research and testing of the Shenzhou spacecraft, the Long March rocket, and the Dongfanghong-5 satellite platform, and has won more than 50 provincial and above science and technology awards and more than 30 provincial teaching awards, including the National Defense Science and Technology Award, the Aerospace Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Hebei Science and Technology Progress Award.
The school library is 26,000 square meters, with a collection of 1.15 million paper books, 1.9 million electronic books, and more than 1,000 Chinese and foreign periodicals. The school has more than 8,000 multimedia classroom seats, 2,500 library reading seats, advanced language rooms and audio-visual rooms, and book resources are open to the public. Student accommodation is managed in an apartment-like manner, with a clean and peaceful environment, complete supporting facilities, and all dormitories are connected to the Internet. The school has an international cooperation and exchange center, and conducts inter-school exchanges and cooperation with universities such as the Technical University of Regensburg in East Bayern, Germany, St. Martin's University in the United States, and the Zhukovsky National Aerospace University in Ukraine. It has opened a major in Sino-foreign cooperative education, and nearly 100 teachers and international students have visited, exchanged, and studied with each other; it has been carrying out Sino-foreign cultural exchange week activities for many years, and hundreds of volunteers from the United States, Germany, Canada and other countries have visited our school and carried out exchange activities.

Huahang Entrepreneurship University is one of the first entrepreneurial universities in the province. The school's student science and technology and cultural activities are rich and colorful. It invites aerospace experts and social celebrities to open the "Huahang Lecture Hall" all year round. It has built an aerospace museum and Professor Qian Yonggang, the son of Qian Xuesen, is the curator. Student science and technology activities and social practice activities are very active. In the past five years, students have won 1,223 national awards and 1,827 provincial awards in innovation and entrepreneurship and subject professional competitions such as the National College Students' "Challenge Cup" Extracurricular Science and Technology Works Competition, the National Mathematical Modeling Competition, the Electronic Design Competition, and the Mechanical Innovation Design Competition. Graduates are well received by employers for their "three real" characteristics of "solid foundation, simple character, and pragmatic style". In recent years, the employment rate of graduates has remained above 95% for the first time, and the employment quality is good.
