Hebei Petroleum Vocational and Technical University originated from the "Beiyang Technology School" founded in Tianjin in 1903. It is one of the earliest higher industrial vocational colleges in my country. The school began to serve the petroleum industry in 1952 and moved to Chengde City, Hebei Province in 1958. In January 2021, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school resources of Hebei University of Technology City College and Chengde Petroleum College were integrated and transferred to Hebei Petroleum Vocational and Technical University. It is now a public undergraduate vocational school jointly built by the central and local governments and mainly managed by the Hebei Provincial People's Government.
