Hebei Vocational University of Technology and Engineering (Hebei Vocational University of Technology and Engineering), referred to as "Hebei Vocational University of Technology and Engineering", is affiliated to the People's Government of Hebei Province. It is a full-time undergraduate university with engineering as its main discipline and a pilot school for undergraduate vocational education established by the state in the new era. The school is located in Xingtai City, Hebei Province, a provincial historical and cultural city in Hebei, a national garden city, a node city of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration, an advanced manufacturing base in central and southern Hebei, and a logistics hub. It is the ancient capital of the Five Dynasties and the hometown of Yuan Dynasty scientist Guo Shoujing. It has a profound cultural heritage, beautiful environment, convenient transportation, and developed information.

The school's predecessor, Xingtai Agricultural Machinery School, was founded in 1979 and belongs to the Ministry of Agricultural Machinery of the State. In 1982, it was renamed Xingtai Mechanical Industry School of the Ministry of Machinery Industry, and in 1983 it was renamed the Military Industry School of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, which is affiliated to the General Logistics Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In 1991, with the approval of the former State Education Commission, Xingtai Higher Vocational and Technical School was established based on the Military Industry School to carry out a pilot reform of higher vocational education; in 1994, the school was renamed the Military Industry College of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In 1997, the Ministry of Education approved the school to take the lead in changing its name to Xingtai Vocational and Technical College with the standard of "Vocational and Technical College". In the same year, the General Logistics Department approved the school to be renamed the Military Industry College of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In 2002, the school was transferred from the General Logistics Department to Hebei Province and became a provincial university. In 2021, the Ministry of Education approved Xingtai Vocational and Technical College as the main body of the school, and merged with the School of Science and Technology of North China Electric Power University to establish Hebei Science and Technology Engineering Vocational and Technical University.

The school thoroughly implements the party's education policy, firmly adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, implements the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people, and promotes the comprehensive and sustainable development of students. In the process of running the school, the school has always inherited and carried forward the military style of running schools, followed the school motto of "combining virtue and ability, and taking responsibility", adhered to the school spirit of "vigorous and resolute action, unity and dedication, practical innovation, and pursuit of excellence", and maintained a good development trend in all fields. In 1991, it undertook the pilot task of higher vocational education of the former State Education Commission. In 2000, it became a key construction unit of the first batch of national exemplary vocational and technical colleges. In December 2006, the school was established by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance as one of the first 28 "National Demonstration Higher Vocational College Construction Plan" project construction colleges. In 2009, it passed the acceptance with excellent results and became the first national demonstrative higher vocational college in Hebei Province in the first batch of the country. In 2010, it was awarded the "Top 50 Typical Experiences of National College Graduates in Employment". In 2016, it became the first batch of " It is a project construction unit of "National High-quality Higher Vocational Colleges" and the first batch of apprenticeship construction units of the Ministry of Education. The school serves the national development strategy, deepens the service to the national military-civilian integration and the construction of Xiongan New Area, connects with the leading industries in Hebei Province, constructs a "one body and two wings" professional layout, and builds a main professional group. It has 10 departments including automotive engineering, clothing engineering, electromechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction engineering, information engineering, art and media, economic management, accounting, resources and environmental engineering, etc. It offers 10 undergraduate majors including automotive engineering technology, mechanical design, manufacturing and automation, electrical engineering and automation, clothing engineering technology, etc., and more than 40 higher vocational majors including construction engineering technology, computer network technology, architectural decoration engineering technology, marketing, accounting, and environmental engineering. The school pays attention to absorbing advanced foreign education concepts and advanced education standards, and has successively carried out inter-school cooperation with Australia, Japan, Britain, the United States, Germany, Thailand, South Africa and other countries. In March 2015, the school jointly opened a degree education cooperative education project with the University of Applied Sciences Schmalkalden in Germany, including mechanical manufacturing and automation, mechatronics, automotive electronics technology, and electrical automation. The school established the first overseas internship base for college students and overseas teacher training base in Hebei Province at the University of Applied Sciences Schmalkalden, and continued to play a leading role in Sino-German vocational education cooperation. Cooperated with Thailand to establish the Sino-Thai Language and Technology Center, set up the "Shoujing Workshop" to promote overseas education, and successfully held three rounds of "Thai Vocational Education Teacher Advanced Training Course", becoming the first higher vocational college in Hebei Province to provide vocational education teachers for countries along the "Belt and Road". It took the lead in establishing the Military-Civilian Integration Vocational Education Industry-University-Research Collaborative Development Alliance, the Hebei Higher Vocational Education Teaching Alliance, the Hebei Garment Vocational Education Group, the Hebei Automobile Vocational Education Group and the Hebei Higher Vocational Colleges Ideological and Political Theory Course Construction Alliance, and jointly established the Marxism College with the Xingtai Municipal Party School.
