Hebei Open University

Hebei Open University was established in 2020. It is an important part of Hebei's higher education and the Hebei regional center of the National Open University. The school was formerly Hebei Radio and Television University, which was approved by the Hebei Provincial People's Government in 1979. The school has two campuses, South and North. The South Campus is the main campus, located at No. 460, Hezuo Road, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province; the North Campus is located at No. 481, Heping West Road, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province.

The school is a new type of higher education institution with the mission of promoting lifelong learning for all people, supported by modern information technology, and characterized by "Internet +", and it conducts academic and non-academic education for the society. The school consists of provincial open universities, municipal open universities, county (city, district) open universities, township (street) open university learning centers, and community (village) learning points, forming an open university system covering the entire province. The school implements the management system of "provincial coordination and hierarchical schooling", coordinates the construction of the provincial open university system, and explores the integrated school-running model and operation mechanism of "one game for the whole province". At present, there are more than 4,500 faculty and staff and more than 280,000 registered students.

The school is based on running a socialist university with Chinese characteristics, and undertakes the responsibility of serving the lifelong learning of all people in our province, promoting the construction of the province's open education system, and exploring the integrated development of higher education, vocational education and continuing education. Hebei Open University (system) has gradually become the main platform for lifelong education, the main platform for online education, the platform for flexible education, and the platform for external cooperation in our province. It has become the main force in serving the lifelong learning of all people and a strong support for the skills society.

The school assumes the functions of Hebei Open University for the Elderly, and is responsible for establishing an elderly education network covering urban and rural areas throughout the province, becoming a new type of elderly university with a complete system, rich resources, high degree of informatization, wide coverage and great influence.
