Qilu University of Technology

Qilu University of Technology is located in Jinan, Shandong Province, the "Spring City". It was founded in 1948 and is one of the earliest public undergraduate colleges in Shandong Province. In 2013, the school was renamed Qilu University of Technology from Shandong Institute of Light Industry. The school is a project construction unit of Shandong Province's "Applied Talent Characteristic Famous School" and Shandong Province's "2011 Collaborative Innovation Plan".

History

The school (Science Academy) was established in May 2017 by the integration of Qilu University of Technology and Shandong Academy of Sciences. The history of Qilu University of Technology can be traced back to the Jiaodong Industrial School established by the Jiaodong Military Region of the People's Liberation Army in 1948. From 1978 to 2013, it was the period of Shandong Institute of Light Industry. In 2013, it was renamed Qilu University of Technology. It is one of the first batch of universities to be built in the national "industry-education integration" project, one of the first batch of famous universities with application-oriented talent training characteristics in Shandong Province, one of the first batch of project construction units of Shandong University Collaborative Innovation Center, and a provincial civilized campus in Shandong Province. Shandong Academy of Sciences was established in 1979. It is a public institution directly under the provincial government and the largest comprehensive natural science research institution in Shandong Province. Its predecessor was the Shandong Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which was founded in 1958. The new Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences) gathers high-quality scientific and educational resources in Shandong Province, implements a unified management system of schools and academies, creates advantages and characteristics of scientific and educational integration, and is an important force in the field of new industrial science and technology innovation and talent training in Shandong Province.

The school (academy of sciences) has campuses or research institutions in Jinan, Qingdao, Jining, Linyi, Heze and other places, and the main campus is in Jinan Changqing University Science and Technology Park. The school (academy of sciences) has complete modern teaching infrastructure and experimental equipment. The total building area of ​​the school is 1.42 million square meters, the total value of teaching and research equipment is 1.85 billion yuan, the library has 2.8 million books and 4.79 million electronic books. It has built the Shandong Education and Research Network University Science and Technology Park network node and the Gigabit Ethernet computer network covering the whole school, the Qilu Ceramics and Glass Museum where science and art are deeply integrated, the campus environment is beautiful and quiet, and the humanities and arts are rich. It has established friendly cooperative relations with universities and research institutes in more than 50 countries and regions, built a national international science and technology cooperation base, an international graduate school, a Sino-foreign cooperative Kiev college and an international demonstration college, set up a postdoctoral workstation, and jointly trained doctoral students with famous foreign universities; co-built some colleges of the World Sports University with the Asia-Pacific Sports Federation, and hosted international sports events; held 3 Sino-foreign cooperative undergraduate programs, set up immigration visa IELTS test centers, built more than 40 national and provincial international science and technology cooperation bases (R&D centers), and had multiple high-level professional international joint laboratories. In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 260 international cooperation projects of various types and more than 240 national and local intelligence introduction projects; currently, there are about 300 foreign experts who come to exchange and visit each year, and nearly 120 foreign experts who work long-term on campus (institute). Three foreign experts have won the National Friendship Award and the honorary title of "Advanced Unit for Introducing Intelligence Work" awarded by the State Administration of Foreign Experts.
