Shandong Women's University

Shandong Women's University is a provincial public undergraduate college and one of the three women's undergraduate colleges in the country. The school was founded in 1952, held adult higher education in 1984, held general higher vocational education in 1995, and was approved by the Ministry of Education to be rebuilt into a full-time undergraduate college in 2010. In 2016, it accepted the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education and passed the assessment smoothly. In 2021, the school was approved as a supporting unit for the construction of applied undergraduate colleges in Shandong Province.

The school has the Zhongyuhan Campus and the Changqing University Science and Technology Park Campus. In September 2005, it moved into the new campus of Changqing University Town. The school covers a total area of ​​more than 1,100 acres and a construction area of ​​280,000 square meters. There are 95 laboratories (training) and more than 360 off-campus internship bases. The library has a collection of 1.3246 million paper books and 1.6206 million electronic books.

The school currently has 16,588 full-time students. There are 877 faculty members, including 782 teachers with doctoral and master's degrees, 373 associate professors and above; 5 provincial teaching masters, and 2 people who enjoy special government subsidies from the State Council. The Preschool Education Teaching and Research Section, Tourism Management Teaching Team, and Marketing Teaching Team were identified as provincial excellent teaching teams by the Provincial Department of Education. The "Economic Management College Teacher Team" of the School of Business Administration and the "Digital Finance Teacher Team" of the School of Economics won the "Huang Danian-style Teacher Team of Shandong Universities".

The school focuses on the goal of cultivating high-quality applied talents, continuously deepens education and teaching reforms, and adjusts and optimizes the layout of disciplines and majors. There are 15 teaching schools and 44 general undergraduate majors, covering 8 disciplines including education, law, management, economics, art, literature, engineering and science, and enrolling students from 19 provinces/autonomous regions across the country. Business administration has been approved as a provincial specialty, and the preschool education major has been identified by the Provincial Department of Education as a specialty major in Shandong Province and a brand major in adult higher education in Shandong Province; two professional groups with business administration and preschool education as the core have been approved as high-level applied project construction professional groups in Shandong Province; 9 undergraduate majors including preschool education, social work, international economy and trade, tourism management, business administration, accounting, computer science and technology, human resources management and marketing have been selected as first-class undergraduate major construction sites in Shandong Province, and the preschool education major has been selected as a national first-class undergraduate major construction site. 18 courses have been identified as first-class undergraduate courses in Shandong Province, 1 course has been identified as the first batch of national first-class undergraduate courses, and 1 course has been identified as a "golden course" of ideological and political courses in Shandong Province. The Shandong Women's Entrepreneurship University, co-founded by the school and the Provincial Women's Federation, has trained more than 50,000 students and incubated more than 150 innovative and entrepreneurial projects. It has been rated as a provincial-level university student entrepreneurship incubation demonstration base in Shandong Province and a key base for women's innovation and entrepreneurship education in Shandong Province, which has strongly supported Shandong women's innovation and entrepreneurship and contributed to the national rural revitalization strategy. Since the 13th Five-Year Plan, the school has undertaken 15 national projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation, Social Science Foundation, Education Science Planning, and Art Fund, 173 provincial and ministerial projects, won 14 provincial and ministerial scientific research awards, published 103 academic works, 22 textbooks, and authorized 318 national patents. It has been approved as a research platform such as the Women/Gender Research and Training Base of the All-China Women's Federation and the Shandong Women's Federation, the Family Education Experimental Research Base of the All-China Women's Federation and the Shandong Women's Federation, and the Shandong Women's Human Resources Development and Management Research Base. Actively undertake and participate in the development of women and children's cause, women/gender research, and the research and formulation of relevant policies and laws. The "Preschool Education Legislation Team" is responsible for drafting the "Shandong Preschool Education Regulations", which was rated as one of the ten major events in Shandong education in 2019, and undertakes the drafting of the Ministry of Education's preschool-primary school transition action plan and the preschool education part of "Shandong Education Modernization 2035". "Journal of Shandong Women's University" adheres to the purpose of deepening women/gender research and promoting advanced gender culture, and is one of the three major women/gender theory research journals in the country.

The school adheres to open education. In 2011, it joined the World Women's Education Alliance. In 2014, it jointly initiated the establishment of the China Women's University Alliance. Together with women's universities at home and abroad, it is committed to the development of women's higher education. It has established cooperative relations with 52 foreign universities and institutions, and carried out various forms of international exchange and cooperation activities such as credit exchange, mutual degree awarding, and overseas internships.
