Qilu Normal University

Qilu Normal University is a public full-time general undergraduate normal college. The school has a long history of running schools. Its predecessor was the School of Education of East China University, founded in 1948; it moved from Yidu (Qingzhou City), Shandong to Jinan, Shandong in 1949; it was renamed Shandong Education College in 1960; and it was restructured and renamed Qilu Normal University in 2010. In 2018, it successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation of the Ministry of Education, and in 2021, it was approved as the first batch of supporting universities for the construction of applied undergraduate universities in Shandong Province.

Over the past 70 years since its establishment, the school has adhered to the school motto of "Broad Learning, Clear Dao, Respecting Virtue and Immortality", adhered to the school-running orientation of "normal, local, and applied" and the concept of "transformation, characteristic development, innovative development, and open development", implemented the development strategy of "quality-based school, talent-based school, characteristic famous school, cultural school, and service-based school", deepened the reform of education and teaching, and continuously improved the school-running level, forming the characteristics of pre-service and post-service integration of teacher education, cultural education, and other school-running characteristics, and cultivated a large number of high-quality application-oriented talents for the economic and social development of Shandong Province.

The school currently has two campuses in Lixia and Zhangqiu, covering an area of ​​849,800 square meters, a total building area of ​​304,500 square meters, a total fixed asset value of 1.029 billion yuan, and a collection of more than 1.35 million paper books. The school has 17 teaching units and 42 general undergraduate majors, covering 10 disciplines such as education, literature, and science. There are more than 17,000 full-time students. There are 1 national first-class undergraduate professional construction site, 7 provincial first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, 5 provincial characteristic majors, 1 provincial applied talent training funded major, and 2 provincial high-level applied construction professional groups. The three undergraduate majors of primary education, ideological and political education, and Chinese language and literature have successfully passed the second-level certification of the Ministry of Education's teacher education major.

The school attaches importance to connotation construction. There are 10 experts with provincial and above talent titles such as experts enjoying special allowances from the State Council, Shandong Province Teaching Masters, and Shandong Province Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions; 7 provincial and above teams such as provincial-level excellent scientific research innovation (cultivation) teams, superior discipline talent teams, and good entrepreneurial teams. In recent years, teachers have undertaken 23 national scientific research projects and more than 260 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects; published more than 1,900 papers, published more than 190 books and textbooks; and won more than 150 scientific research awards at the department and bureau level or above. Won the second prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award for three consecutive sessions and 14 provincial teaching achievement awards. The school has established provincial engineering technology research centers, key laboratories of universities, and Jinan Engineering Laboratories and other platforms. Established the world's leading corn gene mutation mutant library, jointly cultivated 6 high-protein corn varieties (lines), and promoted an area of ​​more than 2.17 million mu.

The school has outstanding advantages in serving Shandong's basic education. It is the base of the National Famous Principal Pilot Project of the Ministry of Education and the base of the "National Training Program" boutique project; it has established institutions such as the Shandong Provincial Primary and Secondary School Teacher Training Center and the Primary and Secondary School Curriculum Research Center, and undertakes the task of training primary and secondary school teachers in the province, training more than 800,000 people each year.

The school strengthens the concept of international open school-running, and has established friendly and cooperative relations with 37 universities in the United States, Canada, Australia, South Korea and Taiwan, building a broad platform for teachers and students to conduct academic exchanges, further study, and cultural exchanges and mutual learning, and continuously expanding and deepening foreign exchanges and cooperation.
