Weifang University

Weifang University is a full-time comprehensive undergraduate university in Shandong Province approved by the Ministry of Education. It is located in Weifang, Shandong, the world-famous kite capital and national civilized city. The school is a provincial application-oriented talent training characteristic famous school project construction unit, a provincial master's degree project construction Class A unit, the first batch of provincial application-oriented undergraduate college construction support units, and a provincial civilized campus.

The school currently covers an area of ​​1,543 acres (1.03 million square meters), with a school building area of ​​843,000 square meters, a collection of 3.111 million books, and 41.5TB of digital resources. The school has a high-standard large sports field and a 40,000 square meter modern multi-functional gymnasium. It has a leading campus network among similar institutions in China. It is a city node unit of the China Education and Research Network (CERNET) in Weifang and a standing director unit of the National Education Informatization Council.

The school currently has 23 teaching units and 71 undergraduate majors, covering 10 major disciplines including science, engineering, liberal arts, economics, management, agriculture, law, history, education and art. There are 3 national specialty majors and comprehensive reform pilot majors of the Ministry of Education, 11 provincial first-class specialty construction sites, 30 provincial specialty majors, high-level application-oriented project construction majors, application-oriented talent training and development support plan majors, outstanding engineer training majors, and adult education brand majors; there are 2 national first-class courses, 96 provincial first-class courses, quality courses, bilingual teaching demonstration courses, and adult education specialty courses, 5 provincial teaching teams, 4 national off-campus practical education bases for college students, provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, provincial talent training model innovation experimental zones, and provincial college student entrepreneurship incubation demonstration bases, and 369 off-campus teaching practice bases; carry out the Ministry of Education's "National Training Program" special education backbone teacher training project, and undertake 6 pilot projects in the national education system reform pilot zone.

The school currently has 2 provincial key disciplines of optics and regional economics and a provincial cultural and artistic science key discipline of folk culture. There are 13 provincial scientific research and innovation platforms and 19 municipal scientific research and innovation platforms, including the Provincial Key Laboratory of Multiphoton Entanglement and Manipulation, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center for Fiber Optic Sensing and Optoelectronic Information, the Provincial Engineering Laboratory for Intelligent Vegetable Planting Equipment, the Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Modern Vegetable Seed Industry, the Provincial Industrial Design Center, the Provincial Folk Culture Industry Development Research Base, the Provincial University Humanities and Social Sciences Research Base, and the Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture Inheritance Base. There are 62 research institutes, including the Quantum Information Technology Research Institute, Beihai Cultural Research Institute, Weifang Financial and Fiscal Research Institute, Energy Conservation Research Institute, Cultural and Museum Research Institute, and New Electromagnetic Materials Research Institute, and the academic journal "Journal of Weifang University" is published publicly. In recent years, it has undertaken more than 110 national projects and more than 1,230 provincial and ministerial projects.

The school currently has 1,981 faculty and staff, including 690 senior professionals, 438 doctors, and 126 doctoral and master's supervisors. There are 40 people including academicians of the Russian Academy of Engineering, selected personnel of the National High-level Talent Special Support Program, experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, members of the Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, national outstanding teachers, Taishan industry leaders, and young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in provinces and cities. Many well-known experts and scholars are appointed as special (part-time) professors or heads of professional committees of the school.

The school enrolls students from 29 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) across the country, and currently has more than 24,000 full-time students. In recent years, students have successively won the "Highest Computing Performance Award" of the World University Supercomputer Competition and the "Xiaoping Science and Technology Innovation Team" supported by the China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award Fund. They have repeatedly won good results in international and domestic discipline competitions, science and technology innovation competitions, innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and other activities. Students have obtained 247 authorized patents, the rate of undergraduate graduates taking postgraduate entrance examinations remains above 20%, and the average rate of graduates' graduation destinations at the end of the year in the past three years is above 92%. In recent years, the school has made great progress in various undertakings. It has passed the evaluation and review of the undergraduate teaching work level of the Ministry of Education, and has been identified as the first batch of provincial postgraduate joint training bases, the first batch of provincial teacher education bases for pilot construction in the National Education Reform Pilot Zone, the national special education teacher training base, the provincial application-oriented talent training characteristic famous school project construction unit, the first batch of provincial education informatization demonstration units, the provincial master's degree awarding project construction unit (Class A), and the first batch of provincial application-oriented undergraduate college construction support units, and has won national and provincial honorary titles many times.
